  1. Actually you do not have to show any proof of anything when pulled over unless you were pulled over for a violation like speeding or not using a turn signal. Police are not allowed to go fishing for violations. If you get pulled over you do not have to give any information at all to the police unless you are being cited for a violation. As stated police are doing more fishing now days things like sobriety check points are popping up all over. Just tell them you are not giving any info to them and be on your way. I have a go pro mounted and turned on whenever I travel.
  2. The majority of states allow motorcyclist to ride without a helmet. I live in Ohio where I can ride my KZ1000 like a cowboy. Part of evolution is the weeding out of the weak whether they are weak of body or mind. If I can ride without a helmet what kind of logic does it make to force me to wear a belt inside of a steel cage? I was injecting a little humor into the mix with my previous post and I figured some people would not have a sense of humor. Some people want their freedom and some are only worried about money. I almost forgot I do wear chaps and a cup when I am bull riding just to keep my man parts in one piece.
  3. http://www.auctionzip.com/Listings/2019936.html I have seen some of these cars. I will be there with no plan and thats how I end up with more projects.
  4. I have a problem with safety belts<st1:PersonName w:st="on">, </st1:PersonName>air bags<st1:PersonName w:st="on">, </st1:PersonName>and all forms of idiot protection. These devises stop mother nature from eliminating the stupid. We already have enough stupid people in the world lets do away with all these protections for a while please.
  5. https://musickauction.hibid.com/lot/14749328/1978-studebaker-bus-m16a14423?cat=0&sort=6&hide=0&qs=0&view=0&aView=0&selCat=0 This one aged a lot for a 1978 model but putting up with lots of kids will do that to you. I think it might be a 1948 model
  6. I would think those would both be fairly easy to make and reproduce. I have done some sand castings to reproduce parts that were unavailable in the past. For the distributor cap you would have to make a release mold and procure the proper chemicals but still a fairly easy project. fun projects for some body.
  7. I saw some interesting vehicles that I would consider if I was needing another project right now. Does anybody know what the story is on the titles? I don’t understand what they are saying about 3 year branded title?
  8. i am not a fan of country music but i like the cars
  9. In November I stopped by fantom works in <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Virginia</st1:place></st1:State> they have a show on the discovery channel. I was curious to see the quality of their work and the expertise that they might have but I did not make an appointment ahead of time so I just talked briefly with them. I picked up some info on how the TV show works. The producers decide which cars are interesting enough to be part of the show. It was a rainy day and I had nothing better to do. If I was to ever let someone else work on a car for me I would have to know them pretty well or start with small projects and see how well they do. The people seemed very nice at fantom works I liked what little a seen of their shop.
  10. Wrong cops can do anything they want. The law only applies to me and you.
  11. This happened a few days ago I haven’t seen it posted on this site yet so excuse me if it has been. http://www.chron.com/cars/article/Stolen-Chevrolet-Bel-Air-is-recovered-30-years-5256956.php I see titles being issued all the time with no inspection by the state. If you are paid to verify something like a VIN number and don’t do it aren’t you just as guilty as the thief that stole the car in the first place. You would also have to think that previous owners of this car would have noticed the incorrect VIN numbers.
  12. My wife just bought a new Honda crosstour and when the sales guy kept saying four wheel drive I asked if he meant awd. The sales person claimed it was four wheel drive not all wheel drive but I doubt he knows the difference. There is almost no discernable difference in modern cars with the all wheel/four wheel drive systems. I suppose some do work better than others but I have not driven any that were much better than others. If we were discussing real fwd vs awd I would say I prefer fwd as in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Detroit</st1:place></st1:City> lockers front and rear only when I am off road. I used to run a logging company and had true four wheel drive. If I was using my vehicle to get around on snowy roads all the time I would choose modern awd with traction control. 50 years of driving in snow and mud has shown me that the tires I buy are way more important than how many wheels I have trying to turn. The worst fwd I have ever seen was the 1980s jeep products.
  13. A few years ago I watched a small but wonderful yard get run through the portable compactor. The old couple who owned it were both slow and they had a son who was very mentally challenged. They sold it all to a recycling company. I knew the couple and I knew they had little choice. They were no longer physically able to take care of themselves and their son. I remember people coming from all over the <st1:country-region w:st="on">U.S.</st1:country-region> and <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Canada</st1:place></st1:country-region> to get parts from this yard and the owner loved the chance to talk with collectors. He had a lot of nashes and super nashes<st1:PersonName w:st="on">, </st1:PersonName>henry Js<st1:PersonName w:st="on">, </st1:PersonName>1920s 1930s 1930s 1940s and mid 1950s that’s when he quit buying cars. I was unable to save but a few of my favorite cars and one truck. I could not be there when the crusher was running because I was so upset about what was happening. I have some pictures that I might share sometime.
  14. I have used all most all of my wood supply. I usually have plenty left over.
  15. I was asked recently how I was restoring my 1934 olds. The guy asking me has some knowledge of antique auto restoration and his question was geared towards originality. He thinks I need to leave the waves in the metal that were there from the factory in 1934. I don’t plan on competing with this car. I am curios about what he said though. I thought body panels were usually pretty strait on cars that get judged. Am I right?
  16. the pic will stay sideways until you get some positive rep points.
  17. Once again thanks for your opinions on this topic. I am just curios what other people think.
  18. Very interesting answers thank you very much for your thoughts on this subject. I will post a wanted add for the ornament I am searching for in the right section so you all can see what I am after. I just cant stop thinking about collections of ornaments sitting on a shelf.
