  1. Wow. My 2013 Enclave has a button that allows me to turn off the power liftgate, same with my wife’s minivan.
  2. I received the following via email this afternoon: A message from the National Meet Committee 2021 DUAL National Meet Cancelled The Buick Club of America Board of Directors has decided to cancel the 2021 Dual Meet scheduled for June/July this summer. The National Meet Committee (NMC) held several meetings with the board to review the current public health guidance related to the pandemic and the impact on the event. These guidelines included capacity restrictions and face covering mandates both indoors and outdoors along with contract tracing and health check requirements. After much discussion, careful consideration and an overabundance of caution, the board decided to cancel the meets this summer. Strongsville and Charlotte/Concord are excellent locations to host National Meets therefore the BOD and NMC will be working with the local chapters and hotels to determine their interest in hosting a meet in future years. The majority of the BCA membership’s demographic is considered in the “vulnerable population” and consequently at a higher risk for the COVID-19 virus. Naturally, this vulnerability leads seniors to be very concerned for their safety if attending a mass gathering event such as a national meet. In addition, there is uncertainty as to how businesses (including those we had planned on for activities) will be operating in the June/July timeframe and possibility not being open at all. This is currently the case with some tour activities that were planned for Strongsville. Given this, the events would look very different than what was planned and experienced by the membership in past years. The current public health orders in both locations do not provide a conducive environment to holding our typical national meet event. The board offers their sincere appreciation to the National Meet Committee and the 2021 host chapters for their hard work and dedication for not only planning the meets but for providing detailed information on the current pandemic restrictions and how the events could be affected. This decision was very difficult for the board to make but felt it is in the best interest of the BCA membership to cancel. Meet registrations that have been received will be refunded within the next two to four weeks. The National Meet Committee and the board look forward to welcoming everyone to the 2022 National Meet in Lisle, Illinois. Your understanding is greatly appreciated. Pat Wojahn, Chair National Meet Committee
  3. That escalated quickly. I think it was still at $6600 this morning. Not sure it has much left in it, but who knows with some of these.
  4. I have never been one to need AC in my classic cars. I also don’t live in Florida, but summers in VA can be pretty bad. I like to roll down the windows and go.
  5. Yeah, there are a few that seem to always have the same listings over and over. Must be selling other things in other places.
  6. I was looking at that listing last night. Appears to be really clean.
  7. There are several dealers on eBay, like this seller, that seem to always have the same vehicles listed over and over again. I wonder how they make any money if they aren’t selling anything.
  8. There is a lot to like about this 57 Super. I would love to drive it, dent and all. It adds character.
  9. That’s a good idea...I have posted things in Facebook Groups so that someone can tear it apart and turn me off on it. Or, maybe someone else just buy it so I don’t!
  10. Maybe a pinned "Reattas For Sale" thread would be a good thing to have. As Mr. Earle said, it seems to work for the Riviera forum.
  11. I agree that adding the fee shifted a lot away from CL, except dealers. I often found CL horrible with spam responses or people just sending lowball offers. At least with Marketplace, it is a little less anonymous and there are seller ratings, etc.
  12. Thank you, Brian. I enjoy driving it very much, just need to focus on getting through the "to do" list on it. July will be here before I know it!
  13. John, I need to get back in the habit of visiting the forum more frequently. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try the additive route and see how that helps, it had run down to just about empty and I filled the tank with all new fuel. It may also just need some adjustment, seems very cold natured at times, too.
  14. I noticed some activity on this car based on your Instagram postings. Nice to come across this posting and see a bit more.
  15. It seems that any time I am sorting through the lenses of vendors at Hershey and Carlisle, I always see lots of 61 Buick lenses....never any 60 (or 62). Any front end or brake parts that carry over to 63? I have some parts that I acquired from a 63 Electra that I can look through if you know of anything that may be needed. Good luck!
  16. We are preparing to add a new driver to our house in the next several months. I had been trying to decide what to get for another car and whether it would be for me or my daughter. After looking at new vehicles, I decided that there wasn't anything that interested me enough to shell out the big bucks. So, I found a low mileage '97 Riviera that I am currently working to make a few repairs on to become my daily driver. My daughter will drive my '13 Enclave when she gets her license.
  17. Yes, it seems that it had sat a good bit before I bought it and I have only driven it a little locally since I bought it. Mainly because of the carburetor.
  18. I've been meaning to set up a thread on this car for some time now. I purchased in July 2018 from another BCA member, Steve, through a connection made by Brian Laurance. The car has only 48,470 miles on it and is a rare Fire Red color. I have the original sales order from Buckles Motors in Urbana, OH. The dealership closed in 2009, after 53 years in business. It is a highly optioned all original paint, vinyl top, and interior car. All in very good condition. I haven't done too much with the car since it was delivered in 2018. Literally the day the shipper arrived, I helped unload and immediately left to assist my parents in cleaning out my grandparent's home after my grandfather was moved into assisted living. We also moved to a new home shortly after in September 2018. The Electra waited patiently in a cramped garage until my new detached could be finished in the spring of 2019. A 20' garage just isn't big enough for the 227.9" car! As I understand it from Steve, he took ownership after it sat for a fairly long period of time. During that time of sitting, there was some damage to the electrical system by a mouse that he made some minor repairs to. Just to get the car running. I have repaired the power windows and made sure all the lights, turn signals, etc are in working order. This past winter, I had the Harrison radiator recored as it began leaking after I drove the car sparing late last summer. My plan is to work through various items over the next several months in preparation to drive the car to the BCA National in Concord. NC next summer. My room is reserved, now to get the car ready. A few things I know need to be addressed: - Quadrajet rebuild- hesitation on acceleration, classic accelerator pump - Exhaust repair- I think it is still the original exhaust and the resonators are toast - New tires - Air conditioning- Its not operating and I think I will want it on the long trip next summer? - Interior repair- not sure on this. The driver's seat isn't in great shape. I will use this thread to help keep me motivated.
  19. I called the number above, 704-455-8200. I had to work through a couple prompts for reservations and was able to reserve with the person that answered. She located the BCA rate and everything. Received an email confirmation right away.
