  1. I had originally planned to go back further, but had to scale back when I learned about the square footage limitation. The only setback requirements were to stay 5’ off the side and rear property line. I will have storage space upstairs, but they don’t allow a second story either. So just has to be attic storage. I am also building a large shed behind it that will allow some storage as needed, but mainly to keep the yard and kid items from taking up garage space. I actually have fairly high ceilings in the attached garage, so I am thinking a 4 post storage lift could work in one of the bays there if needed down the road. I am also planning for a lift in the clubhouse for repairs, though that probably won’t happen any time soon. The top of the driveway will be extended to the new driveway. I set it off about 13 feet from the house to give plenty of access room for the back yard. That has it about 17 feet off the end of the driveway currently. There is a slight slope in the rear of the yard that will require the block to come up as a retaining wall some. Inspection of the dug out footers today and concrete poured for them tomorrow so that block work can begin next week.
  2. Recently moved with the family to a subdivision near our prior place. This location had several conveniences that made it a bit more attractive for us. It also had a 3 car attached garage and I only had a two car detached at the old house. Of course, these homes only have a 20ft deep (barely) garage. That doesn’t leave much room to work on my 60 LeSabre or 72 Electra! So, the plan was to build a detached garage at the top of the driveway (my clubhouse). Work started in earnest today, digging the footers. Little issue with some unmarked cable and phone lines, but they worked around them. Plan is 24x25, which is the largest the Town will allow.
  3. My grandfather recently acquired a 71 Centurion convertible. He is looking for a 71 Buick Service Manual and script trim for the trunk lid and fender. Please contact me if you have either of these available to purchase. Thanks!
  4. Anyone have one collecting dust that they would like to sell? Figured I would try here before going to EBay. Thanks!
  5. You are a better man than me...it is going to be headed to my house shortly. Look forward to sharing more with everyone after I arrange shipping and it arrives.
  6. Thanks as well. I have reserved a room for me as well. Hoping to make the trip out for this.
  7. My 60 LeSabre convertible was invited to participate in a classic car photo shoot. I will have some additions to this thread as the photos come in.
  8. Not mine- local Craigslist ad. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/d/1972-buick-lesabre-custom/6599554565.html MEMORIAL DAY SPECIAL $5500 FIRM44,000 milesSingle owner Custom gold 350 two barrel engineNEEDS WORK AND TLC Gas tank, fuel pump, sending unit were replaced. Either the sending unit is hooked up incorrectly or defective because the fuel gauge on the dash does not register. Purchased a new sending unit not yet installed. Heater core has been bypassed. Plugs, ignition wires and distributor cap have been replaced. The cooling system has been flushed and refilled. Oil changed. New battery. All other fluids are full. Belts appear to be in good condition. The a/c works, but needs a charge. Heater currently does not work because the core has been bypassed. Radio (original) does not work.It starts and runs. I've been told the carburetor should be rebuilt, and the timing is not set correctly. I haven't taken it for a drive because it idles rough and the tires although they look ok, are pretty old and I'm afraid they may be dry-rotted. It needs a paint job. The bumpers and other chrome, although sound could probably use a re-chroming, and though the top appears pretty sound, it could use a new one. It won't come down with the automatic switch, so I assume either the switch, the relay, or the motor/pump need replacing. There are two small areas (passenger side fender next to front door that is blistering), and drivers side that the paint gone (small rust spot), and there are "scratches" on the drivers door just under the window. There are no old patches/bondo.There is a split on the drivers side of the front bench seat.AGAIN NEEDS WORK AND TENDER LOVING CARE

Good for parts worst case. Lots of parts and glass inside the car. Someone started to widen the inner wheel wells years ago for bigger tires Plus was putting in a coil spring setup in the rear. Looks like 12 bolt from a Chevelle. So modifications started. Looks like most of the trim is in car. Have clear titleI can show you the car any weekday after 4 PM or weekends only. That's after you contact me, and we discuss the day and time. I don't live on site thus have to travel to the site. You can take parts off the car once you purchase it outright. I can dispose of the carcass. I will sell the engine and have it pulled. But you need to purchase the car and pay $250 for the engine removal contractor.I can transport for a fee locally up to 50 miles from Warrenton VA .
  10. Which Craigslist is it on? Tried finding Gary Indiana and it sent me to Chicago.
  11. I saw that earlier today. I think it was at $3100 at that time, so it has climbed a good bit since then.
  12. This popped up on eBay near me. Says it has been in storage and "not seen the light of day" since 1972! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1959-Buick-Electra-Electra-225/122902914584?hash=item1c9d95a618:g:uQgAAOSwmwtaKu~m&vxp=mtr
  13. I thought that 2004 was the last year. I appreciate all the input on this. I thought it posed an interesting thought on the value of a low mileage vehicle that is 20 years old. My father is a career mechanic and always warned me about the older low mileage Buicks that I would find, being prone to issues from sitting/lack of use. Not to be fully considered equivalent to a one year old car with 10,000 miles. I have had good luck with 10ish year old cars that have about 40,000 or so miles in the past and it seems that it isn't too difficult to find nice Buicks in that condition. If I had the disposable income and didn't have a list of classic cars that I would like to own ahead of it, this would be an interesting car to park and use for pleasure use, not a daily driver.
  14. While this is focused on a Craigslist posting, I was thinking of a discussion about a bit more than the vehicle that is for sale. I came across the Craigslist ad below for a 1997 Regal GS. It has less than 10,000 miles. He is asking $10K. KBB lists a value just north of $3,000 for it. At what point does a 20 year old car become not just a used car, but worthy of a higher value? I can't imagine there is a lot of demand for a late 90s Regal to warrant a used car buyer paying that premium. But, I owned a 2001 that was very similar and it was probably one of my favorite modern Buicks that I have owned, making having another low mileage version somewhat interesting, but not THAT interesting at this point. https://annapolis.craigslist.org/cto/d/buick-regal-gran-sport-38/6446833811.html
  15. Thought it read a bit like an eBay ad: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F232598289012
  16. The 68s are turning 50 in 2018. I enjoy looking at some of these old commercials.
  17. I will take both and alternate driving them each day.
  18. I came across this story on the 39 convertible today, too. https://journal.classiccars.com/2014/11/25/pearl-harbor-survivor-39-buick-comes-auction/
  19. This story has been around for a bit, thought I would share as it is December 7th. https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/mark-phelan/2016/12/03/buick-survived-pearl-harbor-michigan/94715434/
