  1. Adam, I am not sure if the B-60 will be making it. It is about 15 hours for me. We will see how far along I get by then. I may want to pick your brain on your newest acquisition...I have been eyeing a 60 LeSabre Convertible that is a few hours away from me.
  2. I am a little late to this thread and there was a lot of good discussion here. I would agree with those that mentioned the role exposure plays. I started going to car shows very young with my grandfather. He always had a project going and took the time to include me. I will be 34 this week, am married with two children and a third on the way. I make a point to include my son and daughter as much as I can. In fact I am considering bringing my daughter with me to my first BCA National next summer. I currently have 4 cars....none are show quality and most are four doors because that is what I could afford, but the family loves riding with me to cruise nights. I hope to foster an appreciation in my kids like my grandfather did with me and I enjoy being with "older" classic car owners. I see it as a great learning opportunity.
  3. These don't belong to me and I am not familiar with them, just saw this ad recently. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/4689425067.html
  4. Took the 62 Skylark out for the first time in a couple weeks. It is waiting its turn for new tires and other refreshing while I work on my 60 LeSabre. So, I am not driving it too far on the old bias plys. Felt good to drive with the top down.
  5. I accidently posted this on the general forum. I have found one of the front hubs has been having issues with the inner bearing race and damaged the hub. Anyone have any they would sell? I am going to need this to get my LeSabre back on the road. Thanks!

  7. Thanks Geoff. The bias ply tires that were on it when I got it were somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 years old, so I don't think I can judge the ride on them and I don't have much experience driving on other bias ply. But, ultimately I will be driving this car a good bit so the radials seemed the best choice.
  8. Thanks AndiM! I am having the new radial tires mounted this week and should have them and the new front drums installed this weekend. It has been too long since I last drove it!

I wondered whether it had been sold or not. Congrats and good luck to the new owner.
  10. I am going. Will be looking for 60 LeSabre and 62 Skylark parts if anyone has any leads.
  11. Thanks John! I hope to take some better pics of it soon.
  12. Well, I wasn't in the market for a car considering I just picked up a 60 LeSabre in July that I have been putting some time into. But, I happened upon this for sale locally and when I saw the condition, I couldn't pass it up. The body is pretty much rust free with the exception of a small spot on the inner rocker. The 215 runs great and the auto trans shifts nicely. The convertible top has a couple rips in the outer shell and will need replaced at some point, the seats need some minor repair and the carpet seems a little worn in the rear. I like finding cars that are pretty much all original. Will enjoy cleaning it up real good and driving it. The 30 year old tires will need to go and I may need to rebuild or replace the master cylinder.
  13. Received my copy in the mail. Great Riviera articles.
  14. Sorry, the forum didn't like the way I tried to attach photos to the original post.
  15. Not Mine... no number provided in the ad. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/4658486613.html 1957 Buick two door hardtop - ready to restore. Make an offer.
  16. This is something you don't see very often. How are the floor pans and frame? Is that rust spot at the rear door common?
  17. I don't even know how the ratings work. Let me see if I can bump it up.
  18. I wondered the same thing. I heard from someone else that they spoke with the owner who said it had had a 425/400, contradicting what he put in his Craigslist ad.
  19. Looks like they reduced the asking price to $9999. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/4632303054.html
  20. I noticed today that asking price has been reduced to $3900.
  21. Not mine. https://medford.craigslist.org/cto/4623035656.html Buick Invicta 1960 ! 401 cu in " Nailhead " V8. 2 door . This car needs restoration but is a rare find. The Buick Invicta production was only 5 years, from 1959-63. A totally restored Invicta sold a few years ago at auction for over $30K.Asking $1500.00 or best offer. Trades considered. Call for more info. 660-7548 or email.
  22. Where are you located? I would tend to agree with the other commenters on price. Is the writing spray painted on the trunk? Also, some models are just not in high demand.
