  1. Thanks Pete. I sent an email to my grandfather to take a look and let me know what the tag says so I can update the listing for him.
  2. He refers to it as an Opera Coupe. I think it may be a Model 58 or 68 also known as a Victoria Coupe. I am not too familiar with pre-war myself.
  3. Maybe with so many staying at the Best Western, we will have a shuttle.
  4. Car is still available. Now at $7500.
  5. Finally got around to replacing the master cylinder on my 62 Skylark Convertible, it had been held up in the garage or barn since last fall. Took it for a ride down to the parts store for replacement bulbs for a brake light. Nice to get it back on the road...with brakes!
  6. I had put this car up for sale over the winter. I had just decided I didn't have the time to give it the attention and use it needed. My grandfather was going to purchase it, but I changed my mind and decided to keep it. Finally got around to replacing the master cylinder today. Much better brake pressure. The new tires arrived two weeks ago and I am going to get them mounted soon. Looking forward to driving it a bit more while working on my 60 LeSabre. May be time for my 69 Caprice to go to make garage space and so it doesn't sit too much.
  7. I must have gotten lucky. I bought the same way you did for my 60 last year. I had heard stories of old tires being sent out from Coker. The tires I got were only a few months old.
  8. I just booked for the Best Western as well. Looking forward to it!
  9. Thanks for the help. To be honest, we weren't too sure whether coolant went though the intake on the nailheads or not. I will clean things up and do a pressure test to see what comes up. Will give the hoses another tightening as well.
  10. I did use sealer on the bolts. What I have is a puddle of antifreeze at the rear of the push rod cover. It doesn't show up right away, seems to show up after sitting for a while. It gets to be enough that it will drip off the rear of the engine and puddle on the floor.
  11. Well, it just passed a year that I have had the LeSabre. Figured maybe I should update the post. Completed new front drums, bearings, etc. New tires all around and got the brakes adjusted. Over the winter I realized that it was leaking antifreeze. So, after some investigation I replaced the gaskets on the water crossover and thermostat housing. I also went ahead and installed a new thermostat, radiator cap, heater hoses and points. When I took her out for a test drive, I returned home just in time for antifreeze to pour into the passenger compartment from the heater core. So, I bypassed the core while ordering a replacement, but still found antifreeze on the top of the engine. Looks to be leaking from the intake gasket. So, I went ahead and ordered new intake gaskets, push rod cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets, carb gasket and a carb rebuild kit. While I am taking apart the top end, I figured I may as well reseal and clean everything up.
  12. Posting this for my grandfather: 1930 Buick Opera Coupe (titled as a 1929) 84,112 miles $8500.00 $7500.00 All original body, paint, interior, motor, trans, rear, wooden spoke wheels, glass, and window shades.Motor has been rebuilt & painted. That is the only change that we are aware of. Could be a great Archival car. Runs great with excellent tires. No rust in the metal body though some of the wood needs replacing in the cabin. Located in Locust Grove, Va. which is near Fredricksburg, close to I-95. Call Ralph at 863-215-1971.
  13. Mike- so glad you are posting this for us to follow along. Good to meet you in Springfield and see the racer firsthand. Safe travels!
  14. John- Thanks for all of the coordination. It was great to put faces with names.
  15. Lots of progress Adam. Look forward to a closer look next week in Springfield!
  16. For anyone that has not been before, is there a gift exchange of some sort associated? What are the parameters on that?
  17. Thank you Brad. I definitely felt that the trunk was wrong. Kind of like the wildcat script was there first and someone added the GS.
  18. Nice find! I really like these wagons!
  19. Sorry, meant to attach this photo of the trunk and rear fender.
  20. Thanks Pete. The badging just seemed backwards on the trunk to me. Nice to know it was changed mid year.
  21. Does anyone know the correct badging for a 66 Wildcat GS? 48Super has a really nice convertible listed in the buy/sell forum that has block lettering for Wildcat with "GS" next to it. I came across a for sale listing for a two door hardtop that has script Wildcat with the GS next to it. Wondering if the hardtop may not be a true GS as advertised.
  22. All of my info a photos carried over. I tried to update it today and ran into the same size limitation. Even with resizing, it still didn't get to a small enough file size.
