  1. Looks like a really good driver/first classic. Reasonable price and there will be good mechanical parts availability. Body parts not as good but if in the shape indicated body wise, not an issue..
  2. When I saw the title of the thread I thought a really good price for a driver convertible. Then I looked at the pictures.
  3. That's one of those cars that when we were young sports car fanatic's we used to joke about the fact that the only way to park them was to use a couple of Honda Civics to nudged them into the space.
  4. I have one Sears and one Walmart battery maintainer that I use on my cars. One is 6 volt and the other 12. My last 6 volt battery lasted about 7-8 years and the previous 12 volt lasted only 5-6.( Farm and Fleet batteries are not as good as they used to be).I just check levels and unhook the ground strap, then put the charger on and say bye bye till Spring. The 12 volts have all been maintenance free and the 6 volt ones still seem to have about the same level of acid in the Spring as the Fall.
  5. I held off to let someone else wonder about a high asking price. Watching too much Mecham I guess.
  6. And just to show how connected we all are when I was in High School back in the mid 60’s a friend had a neighbor lady who must have been in her middle 80’s then who had attended the show in 1911 in Chicago. She had a panoramic picture of what she said were all the aircraft at the show in flight. She said she still remembered it clearly and how excited a lot of the attendees were by the planes.
  7. I rarely listen to any music in the cars at all. The 1952 radio didn’t work and even though when young I couldn’t back out of the driveway without the radio blaring now I tend to forget there is one.
  8. And nothing will bring estranged and long forgotten family members out of the woodwork like the chance for free money.
  9. I had two Montegos, a 1973 wagon with a 302 and a 1976 four door with a 351. Both were reliable and good road cars. It would be a very enjoyable car for trips and cruising.
  10. I can’t decide if the resale red is shiny or somewhat dull but agree the car looks really good. Being a 39 Plymouth I would be surprised if it sold at the asking price but as an owner of an old Plymouth I hope it does. Rising tide and all that.
  11. 2,3,4,6,and 7. Mostly Mopar but some of the Independents like Studebaker, Kaiser, Frasier, and some furren cars as well. Not a big fan of GM but that doesn’t mean they did not make some interesting cars and trucks. Guess it is really a case of “I don’t want what everyone else has”
  12. I remember a friend back in the late 60’s who had what I remember as a Comet for a winter car and I could have sworn he said it had a 223 v8. Guess as Elvis said, “Them memories isn’t clear” Thanks for the clarification.
  13. That's nice. Be the only one at your local show or druse. Don't know enough about prices to comment.
  14. Runs and drives. Big plus. Unless there are hidden details that make things worse it could be a project especially withba low buy in.
  15. Parts car, not project car unless you really want to spend a lot of money. Quite a few of these around that run. Maybe not a lot of LeBarons but Imperials abound.
  16. Unfortunately(if you are a seller) 50’s Mopars don’t hold the value of a Chevy or Ford. That is a very good looking DeSoto and should pull near the top of the range. Just don’t plan on retiring on the proceeds. You might ask here as well as this site is 30’s to late 50’s Mopar specfic. https://p15-d24.com/
  17. I welded one on the rear of my 52 Plymouth many years ago and have had no trouble. That said I don’t often have to adjust the brakes.
  18. About 20 years ago I donated a car that had such a bad reputation that no one would takebit in trade or buy it. Rawhide Boys Ranch in Wisconsin was the place. This was before the latest set of rules about donation so I got to take fair market value for the donation. So 15% of $1400 is? Not worth the time and/or trouble.
  19. I assume they were built in Kenosha. I am about 10 miles from there and on the harbor shot the buildings look familiar. And my Mom’s family had folks living in Logan back on the 20’s and 30’s. I like seeing history I might have some connection to even if distantly. The other truck pics are great. Thanks for the additions.
