  1. Yes, for Rolls-Royce, Brewster and RR Custom Coach Works built Piccadilly, Henley and York roadsters, Regent convertible coupe with a right-side rumble seat door. Locke is the sole American coachbuilder that comes to mind just now but there were others I'm forgetting. If the underside image is typical of the restoration craftsmanship, the price seems wildly optimistic.
  2. For Sale: 1967 AMC Ambassador 990 sedan - $7,850 - St. Pete., FL 1967 AMC Ambassador 990 - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org) True survivor, 290ci 2bbl V8, working factory A/C, 69k miles, amazingly clean and straight, new brakes, fluids and filters replaced, fresh tune and oil change, rebuilt carb and good tires!drive it anywhere. I don't need help selling! Note: In the indignant words of a proud new owner back then: "Don't call it a Nash! Don't even call it a Rambler! It's an A-M-C Ambassador now!" The original owner sprung for radio, heater, automatic transmission, A/C, power steering and cruise control, but stuck with non-power brakes.
  3. For Sale: 1951 Hudson Super Six Sedan - $9,750 - Ocala, FL 1951 Hudson Super Six Sedan - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org) This is a mostly original car with one repaint, new headliner, new carpet and new wide whitewall tires 2 weeks ago. The matching number 262 engine has just turned 102000 miles. Runs great! It is presently tagged, and insured with a clear Florida title in my name. I am a Canadian snowbird with a phone number area code of 705 (magic jack). Call for a test drive and if you know these cars, you won't be disappointed. 4. "This was a part of a family members estate. It has a nail-head V8 I believe is original to the car. " Probably just a term the non-old-car person has heard or read. He is just saddled with selling the deceased family member's '56 Dodge, doesn't know the difference between a nailhead or polyhead or hemi head or flathead for that matter.
  5. I also wonder if the original broadcloth has been replaced with a later velour, it does appear a bit too shiny. To answer your second question about the matching door panels: no, Studebaker only had the broadcloth upholstery optional on the seats, the door panels didn't come in matching material, just the 'luxurious' heat-seamed vinyl you see here. Not a completely thought-out package from the marketing department. Here is a link to the Studebaker Drivers Club discussion of the broadcloth interior option: Broadcloth Upholstery - Studebaker Drivers Club Forum

  7. For Sale: 1956 Dodge Coronet sedan - $8,000 Beautiful 1956 Dodge Coronet - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle... (craigslist.org) This is a rare 1956 DODGE CORONET. The car has 42539 original miles. This was a part of a family members estate. It has a nail-head V8 I believe is original to the car. Runs and drives gauges all work transmission works perfect. Needs a tune up. This car turns every head that drives or walk by. It’s old and cool and is in good condition for its age. It will need new tires, could use a windshield and window sweeps for the doors. The door panels are a little rough. Windshield damage shown and blemish in the paint where a bondo repair was done previously in the passenger rear quarter.(Can’t see it from a distance) and the little chrome trim above it.This car was partially restored by a high school in Auberry, Ca in the early 2000s and is a California car. There is no known rust. I have had two people agree to buy and not show back up with the money. So please no more time wasters it is getting old! (craigslist.org)Beautiful 1963 Studebaker Lark Cruiser, Documented 10,854 original miles, 289 V8 engine, automatic, power steering, car cover. Previously owned by the president of the Studebaker Club. Must see this vintage classic car to appreciate. Contact: no phone listed. Copy and paste in your email: ee0ef09674713a24a9e7714eec37b0f4@sale.craigslist.org I have no personal interest or stake in the eventual sale of this 1963 Studebaker Lark Cruiser sedan. Note: This Cruiser has the optional broadcloth seat upholstery that was only offered for 1963 and 1964 on the Cruiser. It came in this blue, a green, rose-beige and iirc, a medium red. Broadcloth was also optionally available in the Lincoln Continental sedan, Imperial LeBaron and standard in the Cadillac Fleetwood 75. As wonderfully elegant as the seat in this Cruiser look in button-and-biscuit broadcloth, its contrast glaringly with the cheap-'n-cheesy heat-seamed vinyl door panels.
  9. Very good advice about Country Classic Cars reputation. Unless you can inspect it thoroughly in person and even then. His pricing tends to be extremely optimistic for what the car is and its condition.
  10. "Will advertise for awhile then I will convert to hot rod, sorry! This Nash is a very beautiful car, a lot more so than the mod A or 32 ford. I would leave as is but it is to slow and needs AC. Gets very hot here in Arizona." Basically, "Buy this Nash or I will turn it into a pile of scrap metal or just another homogenized street-rod like all the rest already out there, overdone and universally overpriced. But, it will be so "cool" when my friends see me driving it."
  11. Ironically, the 1936 Toyoda Model AA sedan drew its inspiration from the 1934 Chrysler Airflow.

(craigslist.org) 1932 Nash 960, very rare classic car. Brand new tires on 1935 Ford rims, also have a set of 6 wood rims. A little rust on driver side lower body door jam. Car is complete I don't think there is any other rust. Car runs good and is registered. I converted the car to 12 volts, but everything is there if need to put back to stock, nothing was damaged. Replaced all brake cables, bands were good. Will advertise for awhile then I will convert to hot rod, sorry! This Nash is a very beautiful car, a lot more so than the mod A or 32 ford. I would leave as is but it is to slow and needs AC. Gets very hot here in Arizona. Price is not set hard but I will not give away. Might do some trade? If you need anymore photos give me a call. 15. For Sale: Supercharged 1962 Corvair Monza 900 Convertible - No Rust - $8,000 - Colorado Springs, CO Supercharged 1962 Corvair Monza 900 Convertible - No Rust - cars &... (craigslist.org) Old school Corvair, early model, running, driving, stopping. It has a period correct vintage Judson supercharger kit with all the goodies, including a Marvel Mystery Oil automatic oiler. Runs and drives great. Brakes were recently done, so they’re in great shape. The Powerglide transmission sometimes slips when cold. Retro sound radio with working speakers. No rust. No bubbling paint. This is clearly an old restoration, and the body is immaculate. The paint is flaked here and there, but there’s no bubbling or rust as far as I can tell. A few tiny dents here and there, but generally very straight. It’s a great little cruiser. 16. Interesting customized Packard 120 convertible coupe. By the rear-hinged doors, hubcaps and bumper center piece and windshield frame, it was based on a 1935 120. Inspired perhaps by the Packard Darrin ?
  17. Walt. Have you considered doing a Coachwork Lines column here? I believe there are many of us who would greatly appreciate such an article on a periodic basis, including me.

  21. That '34 is a wonderful original! Hope it stays that way for years to come. The '40 Country Club for sale has to be one of the few survivors, what a shame it hasn't been better stored and maintained. In all the junkyards I walked around in in the 1960's-'70's, of all the Hudsons in those, never encountered a single Country Club. BTW, ever consider putting pop-up hidden headlights on your Jaguar custom? That smooth look without them is very racy-looking.
  22. That '34 Hudson does look like a very nice original, sorry you had to sell it. I doubt if they come up available very often. Being a Hudson man, I have to ask, have you ever come across any of the Commodore Eight Country Club sedans from the late '30's - early '40's?
  23. When the convertible goes back together, is it going to get a Hornet 308 six with Twin-H Power?
