Normally your fan blade should be half in and half out of the fan shroud. -
I knew guys who deactivated their V864. They undid the high gear switch. My Fleetwood Brougham always worked perfectly so I never undid it.

A Chevy truck would be easier to restore and maintain because parts are readily available. The GMC has a lot of unique GMC only mechanical parts. They had their own engine, driveline and brakes etc. You might have trouble finding parts.

You would put the gauge in the hole in the block where your present oil gauge is hooked up. The hole is probably down low on the block and not far from the oil pump.
-
Did you hook up an accessory mechanical gauge to it to be sure it really is high?

My question was for Bryan. Was the intake or engine changed or maybe a four barrel adapter installed ? I wasn't looking for a Lincoln history lesson.

My friend had an 87 Eagle. The left rear axle snapped and wheel and brake drum rolled down the street. The car had numerous other problems but that was the most memorable .

I had a 58 Edsel for years. The E400 is the engine's torque rating. It is 361 cubic inch. It is a Ford FE V8 352 bored .060 over. The only engine in the 58 Ranger,Pacer and wagon is the 361 four barrel with high compression and hydraulic lifters.
