  1. Ed - I'm guessing here and hoping for help. The sedan afar looks to be a 28 Dodge. I'm looking diligently for the identity of the "truck?!" I am all ears on this guys and gals. Thanks for letting me play. Chuck
  2. Thank you Phil for posting that link. A very nice video of a truely awesome man and a very nice collection. I agree and second the kind words of CarFreak above. Chuck
  3. Leif and anybody - The uniqueness of this roadster has me stumped. I'm not too proud to ask the experienced folks that read this site for help. The 2 piece, V shaped, center seamed windscreen, the straight front fenders/curved rear fenders, the medallion above the louvers, and the quaint, furled top with snaps over the rear storage area. Any clue to manufacturer, year and model would be helpful as i am truely stumped at this point. Its such a beautiful car, beautiful gal and a great location! Thanks to all, Chuck
  4. Thanks Commodore. Thats a great link, in order to see the differences between the models. Chuck
  5. Hey Dave / Leif / Others - Carol mentioned the 1949 Dodge Coronet. When I looked at some Google pictures of the 49 Coronet, I see the car above (Carols photo). Can you fine folks tell me the differences between the 49 Wayfarer and the 49 Coronet? They sure do look the same in most all areas. I must be missing something. Thanks for the lessons and Thank You Carol for submitting this photo and allowing us to learn from it! Chuck
  6. Very neat photo. Can you imagine writing the story to accompany that photo? Thanks for sharing. Great job, as always, Layden! Chuck
  7. I agree Casper - a beautiful car/limo. Great photo - thanks for sharing Leif. Chuck
  8. I agree with the 45A. The 2nd link that I posted is to 1919 model 45A. I think we're in the ball park Leif. Happy Easter to all, Chuck
  9. ... and here it is! Cars H Chuck
  10. Leif - there is a bit more info here The Beeston-Humber and the Coventry-Humber | The Old Motor but as you mention the simple fenders, look at the car in the foreground, and its simple fenders. It is identified as a 1906, so maybe the Landaulet in your photo is on an earlier chassis? I'm still trying. Chuck
  11. Leif - My guess on this one is a 1919 Oldsmobile Model 37A 1919 - Oldsmobile - Model 37-A, 6 cylinder. | Flickr - Photo Sharing! or maybe the 1919 Oldsmobile Model 45A here. http://www.carsandracingstuff.com/library/o/oldsmobile08.png Cheers and enjoy your weekend! Chuck
  12. Leif - check out the 1910 Humber. http://www.svvs.org/genpics11/1910_Humber_16HP_Landaulette.jpg It has many similiarities, though possibly the wrong year. Also this beauty has many similiarities, also a Humber. http://www.svvs.org/genpics8/1909_Humber_Landaulette.jpg Good luck! Chuck
  13. Leif - I thought maybe it was a typographical mistake. The photos and descriptions that I was viewing were/are misleading. Help me out here - what are the easily identifiable differences between the 1923 and 1924 Olds? Other than a difference in the hood louvers, I am stumped. Thanks Leif / everyone, Chuck
  14. Hey Leif - the slanted louvers in the hood make it a 1923, yes? 1924 had straight, not leaning louvers. Can you clarify, or was it a typo? Thanks for teaching. Chuck
  15. Hey Chris - has brother Dennis seen your Avanti Rescue project? Has he taken it for a spin around the block? If so, what were his impressions? If not - I don't blame you - I wouldn't let my brothers drive my vehicles either!! I've seen the way they "beat on" their own! Keep up the good work, you are an inspiration! Chuck
  16. Just beautiful Pat. When nice weather hits, you'll be driving some major test miles - tip-of-the-hat my friend, enjoy! Chuck
  17. Leif / Skip - So the cowl lights on the 1927 Hudson attached to the cowl, where the cowl lights for the 1927 Essex attached to the windshield - got it! Tylers body shows the mounting brackets in the corner of the windshield making it a 1927 Essex. Was that considered a 5 passenger or a 7 passenger? Thank you all for allowing me to learn more with this "lesson." I do so, love this school! Chuck
  18. 1926 Hudson 7 passenger sedan Old Cars Canada: 1926 Hudson in the US Market
  19. John or Lee - can you tell us the the story of the brass/bronze maple leaf emblem in the center of the Hearses bumper? Lee - I, too, will be watching your restoration story closely when you begin the project. A very, very neat machine you have. John - does your car have the maple leaf emblem? Should it? That is one of the curiousities that is out front with me right now. John - that sure is a great, snow covered place you have there! Chuck
  20. Guessing here - 1902 Rambler - great photograph and very nice car! Chuck
  21. I agree with John - VERY beautiful car. I do love the wheels/tire combination. Thank you Art for identifying the Goddess of Speed emblems as I, like noticed them, yet didn't know what they were. My question relates to the windshield or lack of. The Sport Roadster model would have had the windshield deleted and the windscreens added, yet they did nothing to the top? Just how would the top have worked with no front support? Also - what is the black box (wiper motor) just off center of the driver, sitting on the dash area? Regardless - it sure is a magnificant machine, Thank you Doc for posting for us! Chuck
  22. David - I believe it's a Speedster. The roadster has full rear fenders, or am I mistaken? Help me learn please, Thanks. Chuck
  23. Thank you Glenn. I hadn't seen this in the recent past. Very enjoyable for a guy born in '61. I got an 88% - I'm thankful for the opportunity to see those wonderful cars, and thankful to my previous 2 generations. Without them - I'd be lost! Chuck
