  1. My observations, if I may: curved windshield, square doors; 3 external hinges, door handle lands between 2 horizontal body lines, vertical louvered hood with ID panel above the louvers, heavier than a basic pickup (>1/2T). I looked at the Reo, Mack, Chevy, GMC, Dodge, Indiana, White, Brockway and maybe a couple more. All via Google images and http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/OldTrucks/ - my conclusion is: "You know - those old trucks are really cool!" But - I am no help on this today, but thanks for the fun of looking! Chuck in Kansas
  2. Happy Birthday Seeker. Smile - we appreciate you, may your fortunes return, tenfold. Chuck in Kansas
  3. Thanks Shogun1 for the identity fun and Thanks Dictator27 for the ID. I had never heard of Stoewer, but that's the fun of looking and trying and guessing and learning. That blue one is a beauty Graham Man, thanks. As for you 43: Boo!!
  4. Shogun - can you tell us anything more? For a first post, you've picked a tough one. I think it's comical that TrickyRichard comments with a negative tone, and poses no guess. I was heading down the Chalmers/Saxon/EMF lanes but have run out of time. Good Luck! Chuck in Kansas
  5. 41 - I too, will enjoy following your progress and am looking forward to studying your photos! Thanks in advance. Chuck in Kansas
  6. Pathfinder, Laurentine, Strato Chief. Hmmm! Sure wish it was greasy side-down and more photos! http://www.flickriver.com/groups/1617087@N25/pool/interesting/ Chuck in Kansas
  7. Don - I find a lot of humor in your post. Some people have all the luck. I wish I had a furry wagon! I will look at CL to search some humor when I get home. Thanks for a great post/topic. Chuck in Kansas
  8. Bitter and sweet. It's bitter for us that we won't be looking in on Northern Ontario and a great restoration any longer. Sweet that you've succeeded with your goal and the true meaning it has brought to you and your family. Thank You Pat, enjoy the fruits of your labor, Happy Centennial Birthday on behalf of your Dad. Chuck
  9. Curti said it best - You are the guy... Layden. That is an awesome identification. (bowing in awe and respect to the master) Chuck
  10. Congratulations John. That Jag is a beauty! Beautiful pictures of amazing cars. The 1967 Shelby GT500 and the 1963 Galaxie 500 caught my eye, but many interesting cars. Thank you for sharing them with us. Chuck
  11. Looks like you had a great Fathers Day Pat. Congratulations on a safe and problem-free run. Great photos too. I love the very first photo - 1941 Chrysler Coupe. The 1964 Olds Starfire is a fine one too! Thanks for the photos - time to rest up! Chuck
  12. Chris - your Avanti looks great. If I haven't told you, the color you chose is excellent. She is meant to be subtle until riled. Once riled, she's ... - you fill it in Chris! Enjoy the beautiful weather and thank you for the pictures of another VA treasure. I appreciate seeing the grace and beauty, being I'm employed by the VA, times 20+ years. Chuck
  13. Build one of these for it and leave the automatic in it. http://www.baileyengines.com/gallery.html That will fit right in. Chuck
  14. Matt - I'm not so sure that finding a "Turbocharged Ford 2.3 liter found in, say, an old Thunderbird Turbo Coupe or Mustang SVO" will be that easy and if you do, keep that vehicle and have fun with that. MHO Chuck
  15. Hey John - time to rest a bit after that stretch of busy-ness. Great job with the Jag. Just where are you going to put all the hardware you keep bringing home? You'll have to build a separate building for all the trophies, plaques, and honors that your wonderful vehicles garner. I agree - the Avanti shows well and the JD looks tough now with it's new front "bling!" Keep up the great work. Chuck
  16. That JD is looking real nice John. The llamas are sheared twice a year, is that correct? Good luck at the show this weekend! Chuck
  17. Thanks Melvin for posting this excellent photo. I echo your thanks to all of our fallen heroes. Chuck
  18. Okay with me OCF! I love a good story and antique cars too! Tell us Ben - did you get anything? Thanks for the info. Chuck
  19. Mary - I can't help but I love your idea. Maybe a "Super Moderator" can help you out. They will need to know the date needed and the distance to be traveled. Keep your hopes up. I hope my daughters are planning something similar in 22 years when we hit our 50th. Chuck in Kansas
  20. Doreen - I can't help you with the parts, but I want to say Thank You for taking the time to photograph and post to this wonderful forum. Many people will see them and hopefully use them. Keep up the great work! Chuck in Kansas
  21. Martin - is that FE a 292ci or a 312ci or a 406 ci or... ? It is great fun following your restoration. Keep up the amazing work! Mercury Fan Chuck
  22. Bryce - I commend you on your plans and your love of the old car hobby. No matter what you buy, please, please, please value the time you spend with your Grandfather and Father. Absorb their knowledge and wisdom. Question them about everything and have them explain their logic and reasoning. The stories they share and the knowledge you glean, will be the most valuable lessons and memories you will have. Get them and keep them involved. I wish I had and I regret not taking the time to do this. Cars and projects come and go. Family involvement and stories passed down, stay forever. Good Luck my friend. Chuck
  23. Nick - thanks for the photo and another learning experience for me. Just a beautiful truck, so heavy duty! http://www.garyalannelson.com/photo/1948-diamond-t-model-201-pickup/ Chuck
  24. Neat photo Steve - I wonder which of those kids was in trouble! Chuck
