  1. keiser31 - John - does the car above have a custom top, or is the body unique. I can only find pictures of cars with an additional window to the rear of the rear-door window. (see below) Does the above have that glass covered, in your opinion, or is it another body type? Thanks for the help - those old Pontiacs are precious. Chuck
  2. Photo links are not working for me... Chuck
  3. Very nice Bernie. It sure is looking good. Do you have a projected time for completion or no? With all the nice weather of Summer coming, I was wondering about your touring/competition schedule. So much to do and limited time... Thanks for the great work and photos. You are a true craftsman. Chuck
  4. I, too, would enjoy watching the magic happen. Learning from the best is ideal. I agree with Ken regarding the applause. Link also wanted. Thanks - Chuck
  5. Great find - love the looks of these cars. Question: if there is no rumble seat, what is in that void, a trunk? Wouldn't the spare be in the way to access a trunk? Thanks for helping me learn! Chuck
  6. Well done Don. Such an awesome car. I like the fact that the Roadrunner on your bench was inspecting the opened up carb. You 2 are quite a team! :-) Chuck
  7. I forgot to add - "Get Greg out of the big metal building!" Good luck John, I'll be watching the weather in your area this weekend. Chuck
  8. Herd up the animals, batten down the hatches, count all the cats, full ops check on the generator, double check chainsaw, get bread and milk - ya better get started John! :-) Chuck
  9. "Had a lot of looks from folks as I drove past. No telling what they think of that old rocket ship!" They probably don't understand and think "What is that thing with a high pitched whine? It must be old, but what IS it? Sounds good!" Sorry - I was seeing the crowd thru your new windshield and echoing my inner self. Chris - you do make it so easy to "be there with you" as you keep us updated with your style of writing. I've been alot of places in your "rocket ship!" Thank you for that. Chuck
  10. John - is the 23 MB leaking at the lower radiator area? Those front end shots say maybe? If you answered this question somewhere else, sorry for asking, I just don't remember. Keep up the great work maintaining your stable of classic antique autos. Thanks again, Chuck
  11. Gorgeous car - great job Jeff - nice work, as always West. Chuck
  12. Welcome to the forums JP75. Great car and great story to go with it. Lots of help and fans here, keep the pictures coming. Nice garage you've got, keep up the good work! Chuck
  13. ""Yes, time flies so fast. Faster than this Olds, at any rate. My boy is in college and my daughter has gotten married and started grad school since this thread started. ...depressing."" Don't look at it as depressing. It's just a mark to gauge your progress. Hang in there - your restoration will mean alot to your kids when it's finished. They too, will hold some pride of completion and dedication by their Dad! Of course it was their help that made it all possible!! Great news with the engine, keep up the great work, we are following your every hurdle! Chuck
  14. Chris - I like the rubberband over the rag at the input of the supercharger, but why not use two and cover both input and output? The last thing you want is a fumbled nut/washer heading into either port. Better safe than sorry! Keep up the great work, we are following your every improvement! Chuck
  15. All I can say is Wow! Sure is a nice collection. Thanks Vintman for all the information and knowledge about this photo. Chuck
  16. Good job on the trophy John. The weather was a challenge, but the reward was sweet. Chuck
  17. Thanks Vintman - that sure is a beautiful radiator shell. And Lief - you too, Thanks. I had major difficulties with that 3D photo. It gave me a headache! French Auto lesson #1: Complete! Did we get an answer to where this photo was taken, and who owns this potentially impressive collection? Thanks again to all, Chuck
  18. I'm looking at: 1) 4/5 large, openable louvers in the hood sides 2) a low light/reflector atop the fenders 3) horn location and distinct crest area in the radiator shell. T H I S is what I found. SALMSON - 1933 or 1934. I can only find 1 and it's a 1935 (beautiful car too) Salmson 1935 for sale - PreWarCar I am certainly open to suggestions and corrections. That's how I learn. Thanks, Chuck
  19. Looking good Charles. Can't wait to see the rest of the car. 40 years of ownership - wow. That alone, is an accomplishment! Many of us wish we could say the same about that special car we had in our teens. Keep up the good work and bring on the pictures! Thanks, Chuck
  20. I concur per this site/photo. Close Up View= Chuck
  21. It does turn in the mount, but only 90 degrees. So aftermarket it is. Thanks to everyone for helping. PIKESPEAKING - can you provide a photo of yours please. I would like to see it mounted up. Thanks to John and Pat for input. Chuck
  22. Prior to the death of my Dad, he gave me a clock that was, amongst a million other things, sitting in his garage. He didn't know what make or model, but he was sure it was from a car. Can anybody provide additional information as to the car it may have belonged to? He had the chore of cleaning up a 15 acre "junkyard" that my grandfather had accumulated while running an auto garage / wrecker service in upstate NY from the late 40's thru the early 70's. Pierce's Garage in Deansboro, NY was the place and Grandpa turned a mean wrench to many flatheads in this day. Anybody know of the place? Thanks ahead of time for looking, and maybe helping. Chuck
  23. Mmmm - liquid Moosehead! Sure brings back memories! "Too bad Flop is so far away." **Flop - the ultimate standard in metal massaging. The project is looking great Pat. Thanks again for keeping us updated. Chuck<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
  24. Thanks for the info. I see too, that after a quick search, that it was common. I always learn so much from you fellas! Thanks again. Chuck
