  1. Sold! I have an eBay listing for a front and rear set of carburetors for the 1941-42 Buick (248 ci SMALL SERIES) The front is in very nice used condition. The rear appears to be NOS. All observable parts move freely. Starting bid is $300. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1941-1942-Buick-248ci-Stromberg-Aerotype-Dual-Carburetor-Set-AAV-16-AA-1-/201358167505?&_trksid=p2056016.m2516.l5255 If you bid and win, let me know you're a BCA/AACA Forum member before payment and I will waive shipping to the lower 48.
  2. I have a 1955 Buick Color & Trim Book listed on eBay with a starting bid of $200. This is a rare one, but it does have some issues...The front cover is in decent shape, but the rear is pretty bad. After speaking with another forum member I found that a few of the trim and bolster samples are missing. The ones that are there are nice (see listing.) The transparencies are toast, but paint color options are intact. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201371565723?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 If you bid and win, mention you are a BCA/AACA Forum member before paying and I'll waive shipping to the lower 48.
  3. I have listed an original 1968 Buick Color & Trim Album on eBay. It is in good to fair condition, and appears to be complete. Starting bid is $200. If you bid and win, please let me know you are a forum and BCA member and I will waive shipping to the lower 48. Here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201352422074?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  4. I have a listing on eBay for a 1951 Buick Fact Book. Cool little resource for options, specification, and accessories. The former owner's name is written on the cover and inside the cover. (If your name happens to be "Fischer", you're in luck!) Otherwise, the book is in very good, used, condition. Starting bid is $50 with free shipping to the lower 48. 5. I have a listing on eBay that some of the forum members may be interested in. It is an original, very rare, color and fabric showroom sample book for 1940 Buicks. This album is from the Lewis Jenkins estate. I'm sure it was referenced to restore many of the prize-winning '40 Buicks that came out of his shop. It's in very nice shape, with only a few fabric samples showing some damage (shown in listing photos.) Starting bid price is $250. If you bid and win, let me know you are a forum & BCA member and I will waive shipping to the lower 48. 6. Now Lamar, don't tempt me like that. My back can't take another night on that sofa. I see there have been a lot of views of this post. Maybe there is someone out there with a more comfortable sofa???
  7. The floors were weak, and there were a few holes under the rocker panels. The current color is about 40% Black and 60% primer. Ludington Green is paint code 570 (number on the car's trim tag), so it has been painted somewhere along the way. I'm hoping this is the car someone has been wanting. If it had dual carbs I would have had to sleep on the sofa last night. Thanks for adding the photos. I couldn't get my old computer to cooperate. Tom, good eye. Yes, a Mercury convertible next to the Buick (I didn't even notice the other car.) I bet the seller would make someone a package deal. Hey Lamar, you should have called me man. Distribution St is a few blocks from my office and not much further to my house. I would have let you buy me lunch Anderson PS- Really enjoying your column in the Bugle!
  8. Here is an eBay barn find that I just drove out to visit today. I thought I would pass it along to anyone that may have an interest. I would categorize this as "restorable or parts car." http://www.ebay.com/itm/Buick-Other-Original-1941-buick-super-eight-/111599934006?forcerrptr=true&hash=item19fbdfda36&item=111599934006&pt=US_Cars_Trucks The car has been sitting for 25+ years. The inspection sticker is dated 1979. There is some rust at the rockers, floor pans and in the trunk. The wheels measure 15", and have 5 clips (possibly later Buick?) The interior upholstery is in good shape with all the stainless garnishes, but most of the plastic and dash chrome is toast. The body looks to be solid and it still sports the coveted 24" fender ornaments. Under the hood looks to be the stock 248 engine with the single Carter carb setup. According to the trim plate and production data: Model 51 (6-passenger, 4-door touring sedan) 57,367 produced Style No: 41-4519 Trim Code 903 (Tan Bedford Cord, 2-tone) Paint 570 (Ludington Green) The seller is Danny at 704-242-0488. I hope some BCA member has been looking for one of these.
  9. OK, fellas, we now know who to send our Buicks to for quality restoration Paul, its been a pleasure seeing your progress. Truly inspirational! Our local airport has just announced direct flights to Belgium. How about a short drive over the border to pick me up in the BRAND NEW '41 Buick?
  10. Here's one on evilBay, if you haven't seen it already (not mine): http://www.ebay.com/itm/1938-Buick-Accessory-Buick-8-Bumper-Badge-/121254681928?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c3b579d48
  11. beerczar, I have a NOS script (pictured here) as well as a few other 1950 trim items (bombsite hood ornament, hood emblem, etc.) Send me a PM if you still need any of these. Thanks! Anderson
  12. Hi Wayne, The sill plate has "BUICK" as you described. The "Body by Fisher" tag is located just above, on the side of the seat. A previous owner/restorer may have left this off of yours (would love to see a photo!) So, you rightfully remember this from your youth Merry Christmas to you and your Buick! Anderson

  14. Hey Matt, have you seen this one in person? Anderson
  15. I have one to sell. Send me a PM if you still need one. Thanks, Anderson
  16. Dale & Joe, thanks for sharing. And Dale, man, what a horrible experience. You mentioned that was on a Studebaker, so I wonder if Buick's design was any different. Judging by Joe's first-hand experience, it sounds like there can be some bugs to it anyway...
  17. Looking good Matt! My favorite part is that BEAUTIFUL white wall tire and 16" rim...man!
  18. Thanks Dennis, I'm guessing its rare too, but I don't know for sure. I made a trade with a fellow eBay-er. I've found that some rare things can only be gotten by trading other rare things...I'll let you know if I have all the parts in the kit for it to work It has instructions, and it looks complete, so we'll see.
  19. I found a NOS NoRoL hydraulic brake accessory, and am thinking of installing it on the RM. I haven't talked to George yet, so I don't know exactly how it works (or if it works at all!) If I understand correctly, once installed, it keeps the car from rolling backward on an incline while idling. So no more "riding the clutch", I guess. It would be interesting to know if it is a rare, or fairly common, accessory on 1941-48 Buicks today. Does anyone have this on their car?
  20. http://www.ebay.com/itm/200983847826?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 I've listed a set of gravel shield moldings for a 1941 Buick 50 & 70 series on eBay. Opening bid is $300 for the set. These are used but in very nice shape with no pitting or dents. Send me a PM with questions. Free S&H to fellow forum members.
  21. Thanks guys! Yes, seeing it come back together after so long has been fantastic. The body work seemed to take f-o-r-e-v-e-r but now I'm glad I took Lewis and George's advise..."do it right the first time." Here's what I thought a '41 Buick looked like for the longest time These are the parts I contracted out separately, or did myself. This was all in my architecture studio (after the first diassembled gauge on the coffee table, my wife banished me from the house.) Clients would ask "what building does all that go to?" I'd just tell them "it's GM's finest!" Dennis-the chrome was done by R&D Finishing, and the upholstery will be done by Gretchen & John Kepich (in progress.) Contact info on both are listed earlier in this thread if you need it. A
  22. Well, we have a smile again The grill is back on, as are the front fenders. By golly, its starting to look like a '41 Buick (even if it is dusty...)
