  1. If that car was within 300 miles of me I would go get it for that price.
  2. I saw this nice 1937 Buick at the 2013 Buick Club of America Nationals at South Bend, Indiana, last year. Can some one tell me what model it is?
  3. That car has window cranks. That means it is a Convertible Sedan and not a Phaeton. A 1937 Ford Phaeton has no roll up side windows.
  4. I know the seller very well... Since I was 13 years old. He's a really honest guy. Only has a "bill of sale" from the last gentleman they bought it from. How would I go about registering the vehicle if I bought it? Besides what everybody else have said already, having only a "bill of sale" is a problem. Are you saying that the guy has NO title for the car? Take your money and find something else. This is not worth it.
  5. 1972 Cadillac on the street near State Street, Calumet City, IL.
  6. VW Bus at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
  7. Old Pontiac at the Park Apartment Complex, Calumet City, IL.
  8. Keiser31, That is not a 1938 Ford. That is a 1939 Ford Standard. 1939 Standard looks similar to the 1938 De Luxe. The tan car is a 1938 De Luxe; the black car is a 1939 Standard. Percy
  9. I have one for the City of Chicago. PM your address and I'll send it to you.
  10. Understood. Hope you can find yourself a car that will give you the enjoyment that mine give me. Good luck.
  11. No, the exact opposite. I am not happy I sold some of the cars I should have kept. So it looks like you are out of the old car game. You are not yet fifty. Well, if you don't have the energy or money to work with cars now, it's not likely to get better for you when you retire. What is wrong with just "maintaining" a favored vehicle? Who says that a guy has to go in for a full blown resto to enjoy an old car or truck? I am getting my vehicles done now (I am 50) before I retire and get too old and creaky to work on them. Not to be a wise guy, but I am not sure what you are really driving at with the post, except to say you are giving up on the car hobby. I hope the best for you and hope you find another passion to help fill those retirement years.
  12. In 1936 and 1937 Ford manufactured two sedan types--Fordor Sedan (slantback) and Fordor Touring Sedan (humpback). Both had integral trunks. Among those who don't know any better, any five window Ford coupe from the late 1930s is a "Business Coupe", even if they are not. On a related note, a young idiot insisted that his 1980s Cadillac Coupe DeVille was a hardtop. Of course it is not. I pointed out that his car had a "B-pillar". His response, "What's a B-pillar?"

  14. Can 't get mine to work either on my 1937 Ford. New sender, new wires, grounded properly, etc. No go. Must be the gauge.
  15. There is a Buick TV commercial going around where folks can't seem to identify the Buick right in front of their very eyes. Have you seen it? Are they kidding? That grille on the 2014 Buick screams BUICK!!! http://www.ispot.tv/ad/7SDn/2014-buick-lineup-hmm
  16. Did you go for a ride on the holiday? In what and where did you go? I drove to Munster and Hammond Indiana this morning in my 1937 Ford De Luxe Fordor.
  17. Thanks Jason. I will forward the info. We talked about my 1937 Ford Horns. I'll call you about those very soon.
  18. My brother has a nice looking 1941 Buick Series 90 Limited Six Passenger Touring Sedan. He thinks he needs to have the starter rebuilt. Any recommendations for the rebuild in the Chicago Metro or Northwest/Northern Indiana area? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  19. Pretend you are a BUYER, and do an internet search of similar cars that are for sale. That will give you a good idea of what they are going for.
  20. 1960s (?) era International Pick Up Truck on Sheffield Avenue in Hammond, Indiana.
  21. 1972 (?) Chevrolet Malibu on Sibley Blvd, Calumet City, IL. I can do without the toy car wheels and thin tires. Really detracts from the car's looks.
  22. 1941 Buick Series 90 Limited on Michigan City Road, Calumet City, IL.
