  1. So is it a Series 90 then? I did not think from the original pics that it looked that big.
  2. It's not this one by any chance is it? http://forums.aaca.org/f169/1935-buick-identification-324906.html I think it is a 1935 66S but only the chassis number and the id plate would confirm it.
  3. Your 4 cylinder Northway engine should have a casting date on it somewhere.
  4. Not an expert on these but I do know that 1934 Pontiacs used 17" wheels - with, I think, wires being the only choice - and the 1935 Pontiacs used 16" steel wheels with 6.00x16s on the sixes and 6.50x16s on the eights. The 1934 cars used 6.00x17 tyres so I guess the wheel rims were maybe only 4" wide?
  5. Motor Wheel was one of the suppiers of disc wheels for the 1926-7 Pontiac (Baker was the other). Mine has the Motor Wheel discs.
  6. There were many very similar-looking cars in this era. In this case though the choice is narrowed by the fact that it has 10 spoke wheels.
  7. Oakland was one of the original makes involved in GM from 1908. The Durant car was produced from 1922 to 1932. The Durant club has a quite good website.
  8. 1927 Chrysler 50 I think. Not the fleetist of cars but still faster than a horse.
  9. Fruehauf is still a big worldwide brand of trucking trailers as far as I know.
  10. It is more like 1909 or 1910. It might be a Cadillac.
  11. Hmmm, might not be a Northern. Maybe something built in Springfield, Ill?
  12. This looks similar to the bigger model Northern that I commented on here - http://forums.aaca.org/f170/what-no-12-a-348226.html - but I think there are differences. The tubular front axle does not show in the photos. In fact it is hard to tell what the mechanical layout is. Is it possible to enlarge the 'after' photos.
  13. Don't know the answer to what Buick used and whether these are Chevrolet parts. I have a 1926 Pontiac on disc wheels and I have found from the Master Parts Book that there were two different types of wheel available in the era that Pontiacs were on 20s. One was the Baker wheel - like I think most Chevs used which is identifable by the nuts of the bolts used the hold the disc to the hub being visible. The other type is the Motor Wheel - which my Pontiac has - and what is visible is the carriage-bolt heads where the disc is connected to the hub. The car above looks to have too wide tyres for Chev but it may also have had the rims widened.
  14. Maybe 1936 Chev pickup wheels?? - the sedans were on 17s but I think the pickups used 16s.
  15. A guy from New Zealand did just that last year. He bought a 1917 Dodge somewhere in the east and drove it to the west coast and had it shipped back to NZ.
  16. 1932. Don't know how to tell a 12 from an 8 though.
  17. Just realised it has to be a Model 75 as the later (and smaller!) Marmons were all 8s! The 75 engine is a good size for a powerful speedster at 336 cid. It is a big car though - wheelbase is 136".
  18. Another look and I think it might be a 1918-9 Studebaker Model EH Light Six - the model that was renamed the Special Six when the new EJ Light Six was introduced later in 1919. The wheelbase of the EH is 119".
  19. An interesting roadster that I have not yet identified. My guess is that it dates from around 1919-22. I wondered if the car might be a Paige. It looks to be a medium size six with a wheelbase around 115".
  20. Yes certainly has possibilities as a speedster. It looks to be quite a big car - my guess is that it is a 1927 - ish Model 75. The appearance of the engine is different to the later Model 78. I am no Marmon expert but I would say that a Marmon enthusiast would jump at the chance to rescue it. Assuming it is a 75 it is a CCCA approved classic.
  21. I suggest you post this in the pre war Buick section. Some photos would help. I am guessing from the serial number that it is 1927 but you would need to post all of the info from the id plate. If the wheelbase is 114" it will be a Standard Six - anything bigger it is a Master.
  22. Verical windshield so not later than 1920. Could have had its top replaced at sometime I guess.
