dberkham
Looking for the center chrome piece for the split windshield for my 50 Chrysler Windsor. Anyone have any suggestions? Andy Bernbaum's site doesn't offer chrome trim. Thanks.

jazzer3
I have one it is on a 50 New Yorker but I think that piece should be the same. I can't get to the car just now to check the condition. If you need it it's yours for the shippingJay
plymouthcranbrook
You might see if JPromo has one in his vast collection of trim. I just purchased a couple of trim pices for my 52 Plymouth from him.http://forums.aaca.org/f169/new-member-barn-full-parts-380583.html
jazzer3
Dave here is a photo of the divider, I also sent you a private message. Anyone out there, I need to know what has to be removed in order to remove the outside divider strip. Don't need to cause any damage. There is some pitting but it still has some shine left. I had to walk The Jeep isn't making it up the hill at the moment there is about a foot of snow but it wasn't bad walking as there is a frozen layer I didn't break through.Let me know if you are still interested due to the pitting and I'll get it off next time I get to the shop.Jay
keiser31
I believe that you have to remove the inside center strip of trim in order to remove the exterior chrome piece. I could be wrong. I am going from experience on a slightly earlier MoPar.
jazzer3
I removed the screws from the inside center strip but it appears the inside windshield garnish may have to be removed also, it was too cold to do much investigating, that was only a recon mission when I get more info I'll attack, there is a flattened piece on the top of the outside center divider I am afraid of damaging if I start prying. More snow is called for here but I'm glad I don't live where some of you are, God bless ya,Jay
Hudsy Wudsy
I might suggest Windy Hill Auto Parts or French Lake Auto Parts. Both are massive yards in MN which send parts all over the world.http://www.windyhillautoparts.com/http://www.frenchlakeautoparts.com/

jazzer3
I got to my shop today and removed the center chrome from the 50 Chrysler. When, I asked as to how the strip comes off seems silly today but it was so cold on the previous attempt nothing wanted to move, I was afraid there was a fastener behind the windshield garnish and I know something lives inside that there vehicle. Here are some photos it is very shiny but has a lot of tiny pits. Its yours if you want it send me an address and I'll ship it out. Most mechanical parts i like to hang on to but the body parts if needed are available.jay Edited March 16, 2015 by jazzer3 (see edit history)
Guest Bob Call
Check eBay there are 50 Chrysler & DeSoto (same body) window trim parts listed. I believe 50 thru 52 maybe 54 Chrysler & DeSoto bodies are the same base shell. Need parts book or Hollander Interchange to confirm year range. c49er
1949-50 DeSoto, Dodge and Chrysler 4 door and 2dr cpe cars use the same chrome division bar and all will interchange. 1951-52 are a different series of division bar and 1953-54 are a different series also-- none interchange.
