jonlabree
I have just finished replacing the Ign. system, plug wires and spark plugs. What a difference. Did the Reatta come with metal shields on all the spark plugs? I only found one and it was on #4 plug. Just wondering.......
padgett
Supposed to be on all rear plugs however doesn't seem to make much difference.

Reatta Man
With GM making about a gazillion 3.8 engines, you can find all of those shields you want at your local U-Pull-It junk yard. And, no, they didn't come with the Reatta logo stamped into the shield......Joe

Vincent Vega
I have never seen them on the left side of the engine.(front bank)
Guest EDBS0
I just throw them away.A new silicone set of plug wires will easily stand up to the heat and the shields will not cause shorts to ground when they are in your tool box.

Michael_V
I just fried all three wires on the rear of my engine. These were AC Delco and were only a year old. I had the heat shields in place but this wasn't enough. Next time I'll wrap them with foil.
Guest EDBS0
4 years and going strong and the first thing I did was throw away the heat shields! I used 121-3278-9 Pontiac GTP V6 $59.99 A real steal! One wire is a bit of a tight fit but they work pefectly even after been eaten by squirrels.

2seater
The rear bank gets very little air flow to cool the area. The radiant heat can build up to a greater extent than the front. Personally I installed Accel's Extreme 9000 wires with silver boots and even with the heat from turbocharging and a rear manifold closer to the plugs, I have no problem without shields. I used wires with 135* Ford style boots which stand the plug wires almost straight up mimimizing the area where radiant heat is the most intense. And it gets them through the warranty period.

Cargirl
I think original Delco wires are a quality product and certainly good enough for getting the job done well. I put the shield's back on my car because I try to keep the car as original as possible.
