  1. i would not recommend this as a teenagers first car. there are probs with teves brakes and touche screens . many body and interior parts are not easy to find and specific to reatta. dont get me wrong the reatta is a fine car and 3800 is a fine engine. i just would not recommend it for a first car.
  2. my 89 had that happen and it turned out the fuel pump was going.
  3. ON MY 89 THE HEADLIGHTS NEEDED TO BE ON FOR THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LIGHT TO BE ON . I ALWAYS THAT THAT WAS A POOR DESIGN .
  4. i had that happen once, i disconnected the neg batt cable and it reset itself and started right up good luck
  5. yes , i am sure it takes water to grow the plants used to make ethanol. but hopefully this is renewable. we know oil isnt. we need to lower our dependance on foreign oil imports. its close to a point now where gas costs are causing americans to debt even further. how many ppl have $50- $80 cash on them to fill their tanks? at $5 per gallon it will seriously cut into my disposable income. how about yours?

  7. i had a gremlin , disconnected and reconnected neg batt cable, reset itself. good luck

    Freaky...

starting and stopping an engine at each light, tht cannot be good for the engine in the long run?
  9. the reatta was never a super car. i agree with most here that the hand built eliment, the touchscreen on 88&89 yrs and look , plus 4 wheel disc and antiloc were good at the time. the engine while torquey didnt have the hp at all. and the weight distribution was not there. add in the inability for a stick , and u cant make much of a case for supercar status.
  10. i always found that 35 psi up front and 30 in rear worked best for my 89

    More Woes

have u pulled the plugs ? to see whts going on there?
  12. that is cool. i recently saw a buick docu on the history channel, and although i loved my 89 , this tv spot trashed the reatta , as too costly and a big disappointment for buick. i agree that the price back in 89 of 28 k was off the mark, i do think the car was a good one. and i think although the 3800 was bulletproof , for that price we should have had a special engine. what do u guys think ?
  13. miss at top end indicates plugs, that is simpliest place to start. plugs and wires. good luck
  14. i agree , i used a tranny cooler on mine and rubber lines with clamps and it was a no brainer. worked great, i would never use a used one. lets face it, a used on has to be at least 15 yrs old.

    Reatta mileage

i understand, the reatta can get good mileage when u are up to that speed, however that is misleading because u may have taken your foot off the gas that instant and that could affect the instant reading.
