My first car was a 68 Wildcat Custom 4dr h.t. that I kept for 8 years(1992-2000). it was a very nice car to drive and it was well equipped. It even had 3.42 posi wich is not common on 4 doors. I also had a 68 Le Sabre 2 dr, a blue 76 Electra Limited 2dr. I currently have a 67 Riviera GS (Riviera turquoise with black top and aqua custom buckets) and a 75 Electra Limited 4dr h.t. That has most options including Air Cushion Restraint, automatic door locks and level control. The car is verde green with green cloth interior.

The first Buick to enter the Thomas Family was a 1939 Special in 1941. My Dad bought it and shortly thereafter went off to WW2(82nd Airborne). The "39" was stored at his Dad's place till he got back. My Uncle bought the "39" and Dad bought a 1941 Super Coupe Convert. From there Dad bought a 1953 Super & then a 1955 Special. From 1940 to date, we have owned #19 1939 Buicks ( Specials & Centurys) Coupes, 2drs, & 4drs. In 1969 we started buying 1966 Skylarks & Gransports. To date we have owned #12 1966 Skylark/GS.
In between the "39" & "66" Buicks there have been numerous others( 1950 Roadmaster/#3 1955
Specials/1956 Special/1959 Electra/1964 Electra/1969 Electra/1970 Electra/1970 Riviera/#2 1966 Wildcats/1970 GS/and so on.
I think we are a "died in the wool Buick family." They have been to numerous Marriages/Graduations/Vacations/Funerals/Parades/Swap Meets/BCA Local-Regional-National Meets. If you take care of your Buick, your Buick will take care of you.
Greg Thomas.....NEW1966

62 Buick Special Convertible - Still a project... someone had stuffed a late model V6 and a T-350 in there and cut up the tranny tunnel and firewall real bad... no wiring, interior, steering column... pretty close to junk but I'll bring her back... that and the car had been sitting for about 5 years so the top is gone and I need to POR 15 the surface rust in the car and trunk but overall it is not that bad... in New England it would have rusted into the ground but in sunny CA this baby will survive.
Parted out 63 Skylark and 62 Special 4dr to get a 215 and lots of other parts I needed... have plenty of parts for sale....Chris 415 999 7292.
72 Chevelle 454 Drag Car, 65 T-Bird, 61 Bel Air 4dr all sitting in a Barn in Rhode Island. 65 T-Bird and 61 Bel-Air are for sale for $500 each - both are complete, will run and drive but I would recommend brakes, and have solid frame, floors, trunk etc. Bel-Air is very nice inside and chrome... I don't know when I will be back east but if anyone is interested we can arrange a sale. chris 4159997292
88 5.0 Mustang, 5 spd, Blue FOR SALE also in RI. $3000.
86 Chevette 5spd - bought it for $50 with 80,000 original miles from a cocktail waitress named Bonnie. Painted with a roller with gold house paint. Can't kill it... I have personally used it to tow a Grumman laundry truck... ever see a Chevette leave Posi??? now it is my friend's little brothers first car but eventually it WILL get a 215 V8 transplant someday - gonna be a sick little [censored]...
90 Subaru Legacy - Daily Driver - 202,000mi and never had any problem except 3 clutches... engine is bulletproof.
Previously owned a long line of $200 VW Rabbits primarily diesel with a couple of GTI's and a nice 1980 Scirocco. Cheap and dependable.
Also once upon a time when I was young(er) and stupid(er) I completely restored a 70 Chevelle (Black no stripes) and then as soon as it was really really done proceeded to total it runiing from the cops... lesson learned.

Newest Buick addition- my aunts (uncles mother-in-law) mother recently bought a late 1990s Buick LeSabre in mint condition. 43,000 miles. I had to drive it one day and they are very nice cars. This car is the 1992-newer body style, but it is one of the latest ones. 1998 maybe. I am not sure which year the new LeSabre was introduced. 1999-2000?

Hello schaffer
I getting rather addicted to this site
I do list some of the cars I'vd owned the list is long I've and been around old cars all my life my dad passed some sort of car crazy fever onto to me.
Cars of owned not ioncluding those for parts and profit I've owned starting from my first
a 64 comet(dad gave it to me work on when I was 12, rebulit the engine put the rings in upside down, he sold to an engine rebuilder who drove for the ten or so years after we fixed that little snafu).
first I bought on my own a $10 69 Corvair Monza stress engine very fast very bad handling I was 13 just sold it three years ago.
next up was 67 GTO 389 Tricarp conv age 15 had to stash it away and drive moms 71 baby blue LeSabre, just sold both of those the last couple of years.
my next driver was a 69 Fairlane 500 6 cyl painted like starsky and Hutch torino had at 50 pounds of bondo work hey it was the 70's and it looked fast.
next came a 69 Newport 383 great party car for 17 year old drove the day lights out of it traded it 67 Charger first full restoration and show winner, managed to wreck it racing, couldn't let a z28 and corvette get infront of baby. replacement once I got my license back 76 Monaco ex police car oush bumber include traded that in on 78 K5 Cheyenne 400 added some goodies and headed to the shows again. got way to much money and a 79 toyota SR5 for the Blazer. Built the SR5 into what they are calling a tuner today, finally got snart to stop street racing (most of the time)thanks to a lot of help from team toyota and the local dealer ran up there with big boys have pictures running side by with a 76 400 Trans Am.
48 Chevy deluxe was first custom some body overed me way to much money and sold it.bought back the same 79 toyota (sold it to pay for the paint and chrome for the 48). then came marriage, relocation and a couple of young fellas. no cars for a few years, drove the SR5 detuned and a beat up 79 F150 p/u. picked up a cheap 70 estate wagon in the mid 80's and the fever came back this time for wagons. Rebulit 72 toyota crown wagon 2600cc straight 6 160 mile hour speedo. during this process went home pulled the GTO form grandmas garage never did to get around to restoring it,found a real nice 58 limited conv spend to much time and money restoring it to near perfection (paid for house eventually),drove a 70 estate wagon,81 ninty eight, for a few years started to redoe a badly rusted 71 vista cruiser. ran around in real nice 70 parisenne conv until i traded it even for my 69 GS conv during its restoration a friend (who's 67 vista I wanted to buy) told be about my 68 spoortwagon, cruised and showed the limited the GS and the wagon for a lot years, funny thing the two conv seemed to get all the trophies. After being rearended my boss said no more so away they all go. Sold the limited and GTO to an exporter traded the GS to him for 88 jag and bought a house in the country-came with 51 Roadmaster. Old age and sanity(my wifes term not mine) set in and we traded off the jag for a 96 Yukon a couple years ago. Now I build scale models go to - http://communities.msn.com/robscarsandbuildingmodels to see some of them. the sportwagon is still in the garage go to http://www.cartogra.com/Home/ViewMyAlbum.asp?coll_id=1088734 to read about and see it. I have been given permission to trade it for the one old car I wanted but never had - got a 72 Rivera. There is hope I have an 18 year who's looking at a 76 caprice it will be nice to spend his money for once. keep the shiney up and the greasy side down. Rob

A 1972 Toyota Crown wagon? Those are very rare cars. The sedan is rare as well, but the wagons are even rarer.

1976 Buick Century Custom 2door. My first car. Bought it in 1995 with 14,907 actual miles. Due to stupidity and lack of funds, I drove it through 2 Minnesota winters. I also stupidly pulled the original radio out and put in a cd player. It now has 31,000 on it and is strictly a summer car.
Also own a beat 1970 3/4 ton Chevy (hopefully I'll sell soon), and a 1978 Chevy Nova which is my winter pile.
None of the 7 other cars I've owned are worth mentioning.

Our family has had Buicks in it almost continuosly since 1927 (per my father) the first one I remember him having was the '55 Special, followed by:
1962 LeSabre (with the Wildcat engine opt)
1968 LeSabre
1971 Electra Ltd
1973 Electra Ltd
1980 Regal Ltd cpe
1982 Century Ltd sdn
1986 LeSabre,
1986 Regal Cpe I was 3rd owner, recently sold
1988 Park Ave Ultra
1989 Park Ave sdn (loaded, never been drven in Winters, only 43K miles on it, mom's still driving this one)
1995 Park Ave
1996 Park Ave
2001 LeSabre Ltd
I've had
1972 Skylark cpe (Red w/blk top & interior, great 1st car)
1980 Skylark Ltd cpe (mine was a great, reliable car, unlike the X car's reputation. Unfortunately rust ate it up)
1986 LeSabre Ltd
1989 Regal Ltd cpe (my favorite, had the full band molding, full digital dash)
1991 LeSabre (my daily driver)
1995 Park Ave (was dad's, now mine, never been out in Winters only & 33K miles but probably will sell soon)
1999 Park Ave (wifey's daily driver)
I remember once in '73 or 74 the driveway at home looked like a Buick dealer's. There was my '72 Skylark, Dad's '73 Electra, Sisters' 73 Regal cpe, and two uncles with '73 LeSabres.

I think Buicks are one of the most underated cars you could buy for the money. If properly maintained, they're clearly as reliable as any of the so called "more reliable imports".
Tom C tyesac@aol.com

My favorite, I guess I'm showing my age. It's the 1953-54 Buick Skylark. Well I have a couple of updates: I bought a 1969 Pontiac Executive Safari wagon a few days ago. This is the body style similar to the 1970 Buick Estate Wagon (as well as the 1965-1970 full-size GM cars). The car is going to be picked up tomorrow in Missouri and is supposed to be delivered here in NE Tennessee Sunday. There was 6,803 made, so it is fairly rare. It is the 3-seat model, with A/C, power steering, power brakes, cruise, tilt, and I think power windows. I am not sure of the engine, but it is either a 400 or a 428. Owner was not 100% sure. The car is 100% original and I am going to have to have it painted and the woodgrain redone. Interior is in VGC. Since I got the 69, I gave my 1989 Pontiac Safari wagon to my mother. She loves the car and needed one and I was not driving it, was just setting in the driveway, so I thought it would be nice to let her have it. At least it is still in the family and I can still drive it when I want. So here is my cars now:
1969 Pontiac Executive Safari 3-seat wagon
1995 Chrysler Concorde 4dr sedan
1994 Chevrolet Lumina 4dr sedan
moms car: 1989 Pontiac Safari 3-seat wagon
dads car: 1988 Nissan 4WD truck (selling and buying a new truck- possibly a Chevrolet Silverado - will also be moms)
[ 07-12-2002: Message edited by: Shaffer ]

The first car I owned and drove everywhere for 6 years was a 1972 buick skylark 2-dr coupe 350-2. When I got the car it was litaraly a rolling junk heap. I paid $200 for it and it took $1500 to get it to pass inspection. the only thing that wasn't tore up was the headliner and the car was a sort of puke green color with a maching interior. The first thing I did with it was all the body work and being my first attemped at that stuff, well lets just say it was called the bondomobile. I also put a new stereo in it and primered the car flat black and painted bright silver racing stripes on it. Hey what can I say I was young and stupid but to tell you the truth although I would never do that stuff to a car again that car with that kind of paint job it looked meaner than Steven Kings Christeen in the sceen when it was on fire. Like I said young stupid and lead footed I crashed the car going to fast in the rain doing about 45mph around a hairpinturn END OF CAR and almost me! frown.gif The car hit a wall went up a hill and rolled over and thats the story of my first car.

Second car-1980ish Plmouth Fury / worst car I owned traded it for a home stereo. Yeh it was that bad! mad.gif

Third car-1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme / The guy I bought it from stuffed a 77 buick 350 in it. Fastest 0-60mph car I owned due to the facted the gearing was so low it took of like a rocket real fun car on tight curvy roads but toped out to fast. It would do 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds. tongue.gif

Fourth car-1986 Pontiac Firebird / This car was a steal at only $600 ran and looked like new the guy next door had to get rid of it fast he was moving to oklahoma so I bought it and sold my olds to my nephew for $75 just because he was looking to buy his first car and I wanted to get rid of it fast also. I guess you could say he got a steal to but he never changed the oil and blew it up! smirk.gif

Fiveth car-or should I say truck-1984 GMC Jimmy S-15 / Did you ever get a car and just felt like it fit you to a tee. Well this truck did that for me I fell in love with it. WOW maybe I'll have to start listining to county music after all I fell in love with a truck and I'm a hot rod lead foot freak! Funny story about this truck to! I don't know if you will beleive me or not but this truck used to be a winery work truck and never saw the pavement for three years. they used the truck for every thing including giving tours of the winery and close friends of the owner of this winery where two men that work in the movie buisness in costume desine that frequently had movie stars over their house and they would sometimes go to the winery and hang out. From what I've been told movie legends like Danny Devito, Harrolson Ford, and Tom Hanks were givin tours of the winery in this very truck. and even weirder is how it came in my hands. My brother owns his own construction buisness and his serveses were call on by the two men to put replacment windows, new paint job and roof on their house My brothers wifes brother mentioned he was looking to buy an suv and the movie guys directed them to this truck for sale at the winery because they bought a newer suv for toting people around in so he bought it. He drove it for a year and then sold it to his daughter she drove it for a year and sold it to my brother which he had it for two years and how I got it was driving my firebird a guy ran a stop sign I plowed into him doing 50mph and totaled it and that guys brand spanking new car got a large insurance settlement from that and my brother was looking to buy a new truck so then I bought the truck. Talk about a truck with a cool past and keeping it in the family! cool.gif

Sixth car-again another truck-another 1984 GMC Jimmy S-15 this time the rare gypsy edition / I got this truck because the other jimmy by this time had quit the many miles on it 350,000 miles to be exacted and was ready for retirement. This truck I'm currently suping up with a 96 v-6 camaro engine, lift, cowl hood, body kit, rollbars, and to many others to mention. wink.gif

Seventh car-1970 buick skylark 4-dr 350-2 / I found this car at a dealer in quakertown a bit of a fixer upper and yes a four door I like that stile! This car is getting extra specail attention. Hate me if you will but it will be far from stock when finished and its an all parts number matching car first thing I'm currently doing is fixing up the undercarrage, putting air ride suspension on it so I can slam the supension at will, putting a ram air gsx hood with tack on it gsx rear wing custom leather interior, killer sound system with dvd and four video monitors one on each sunvisor and one on the back of each headrest, at least 20 inch rims or better or original buick rally rims with double wide whitewall tires and ordering all the parts from TA Prefomance to turn the engine into a TA Preformance stage 1 350. Hate me if you must but I always wanted something completely wild from the avarege musclecar. Something that no one else has. Also to add to this is a burnt metallic orange paint job and a new white vinal top. I have most of the parts already and will be ordering the parts from TA soon. This is going to be a pretty long project and will every now and then post a pitcher or two of SKYSTHELIMIT thats what I call the car. I must be nuts doing this and I'm a 30 year old white guy believe it or not! grin.gif

Eight car-yet another truck-2002 Ford F-450 / work truck I simply got for my construction buisness. blush.gif

Ninth car?-a car I plan on getting in the future- 1970-72 Buick gsx stage 1 / Don't worry this one when I get it, it will stay 110% original!!!!

Other Buicks in my family are

My first car:

71 Buick LeSabre - 4dr sedan, 350 4bbl, twilight turquoise original color, beefy dual exhausts, good interior - front seat is ripped, needs a valve job (I'll be putting that off as long as possible).

My current car:

71 Buick LeSabre grin.gif

My future car:

71 Buick Centurion Convertible - picked up in January from Oceanside, CA...Rust Free! Loaded, needs new top.

I also would like to have a 71 or 72 Cutlass convertible, maybe a pace car...that would be nice. My neighbor had a 72 H/O Pace car convertible - only 130 convertibles were made! 499 of the hardtops. Very rare car. He sold it before I got the chance to get my drivers license smirk.gif

This thread has lasted so long it is time to update my vehicle list. I sold the 57 Buick special and I see that cars other than Buicks should be listed. I also have a 67 Corvair 500 coupe, a 1968 Chev pickup, and a 1990 Lumina APV . I won't bore you with all the cars I have owned ,as it is over 180

if you have made it this far in the thread, ya gotta be a diehard! starting at 14, i had a 63 ford econoline van i had to push start by my self in the back to get going, open the back doors, run up front and dump the clutch to get started. have had a different car just about every year since, every make and most models, over a wide range of years. the oldest was a 49 international kb-1 pu i put a 351 cleveland, c6, and 9" rearend in. the cheapest was a 74 old cutlass and a 81 olds omega given to me. the most expensive was a 68 skylark i had rebuilt the motor, new paint, new interior, basically rebuilt the whole car. only to have some woman in a datsun 280z run into it one night after bar hours and practically bust the car in half. [also the biggest heartbreak]. the newest and best deal i had gotten on a car is my current 90 olds cutlass supreme sl. payed 600 bucks for it and had to put in a new transaxle. i love to DRIVE this car.

67 special [$200 little ole'lady's car,literally]

74 century luxus [new 350-4bbl,rebuilt auto,ongoing]

90 cutlass supreme sl [indy front and rear suspension, power everything]

89 jeep cherokee [this is montana!]

64 amc rambler american 990 [anybody wanna buy a rambler, its CUTE!]
