Terry Harper
Don't see a stash like this everyday. Facebook Marketplace: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1546663282791815/ Seller's Description Six Avantis in various conditions, from terrible to driveable. 4 1963's, 1 1964, 1 1979. Two of the 1963s are R2s. Hoping to sell the package, but will consider individual sales. Trades considered. Dave,
JamesR
I don't know if $20,000 would buy you one presentable Avanti, but I'd investigate that possibility before acquiring this collection. Is this a salvage yard or a Studebaker hoarder who's gone off the deep end? If it's a hoarder there may be fewer missing parts. Some bumpers are missing. Also, some look (to my eye) to be post-Studebaker.
cjmarzoli
I have been there. It's not a salvage yard but a Studebaker enthusiast who I guess you could call a hoarder. He has other models and older ones too. He has a small shop and does towing and storage. 1

Can't be a "hoarder" if he is willing to sell stuff! 2
TAKerry
Ad says one is a 1979. For a 20k buy in for a pile of parts, I would want to be able to build at least 2 cars. The turbo may be worth it in the long run?

The turbo may be worth it in the long run? The R2 models are supercharged. Not sure this is what you were implying, but thought I would comment none the less. I used to hear on the SDC forum "there is nothing more expensive than a cheap Avanti"
TAKerry
Yes, he said the 2 63's are R2's. Your summation is good for most cars! Pop was a studebaker guy and for some reason I am drawn to them. I have always liked the Avantis but have reached a point that I will never own one. I will keep looking at the die cast on my shelf, LOL.
