John_S_in_Penna
Even though these were high-priced when new and production numbers were small, they have been popular, have been cherished and restored, and so are common today. Look at ads for sale, and you'll see that they are the most readily available model from 1956 and 1957. I think that, just in scanning the ads for sale over a few months, you can find the color you prefer. All the best to you in your search!

If you have one or know of one, email me brasscarguy@comcast.net(Seattle) Your best source to find the Continental Mark II in black you seek is a membership in the Lincoln and Continental Owner's Club (LCOC). As with all marque-specific clubs, good cars trade among members that are never made publicly available for sale. As the overall survival rate and percentage of restored cars is high for Mark II's, your ideal car is out there. Good luck in your pursuit.

To alot if us, you're still driving the newest old car in the parking lot. You young whipper snapper! Paul
