Dave Wells
Totally overdone, IMHO. Should have stopped with the gray paint and left the 12V conversion off. Seller could have saved $5k on those atrocious wheels and tires. He'll probably end up giving them away when a final sales price is negotiated. Otherwise pretty nice for a Clipper. 4

I thought the buyer might come out ahead selling the wire wheels to someone else for a different model
58L-Y8
"...356c.i. Straight 8, 165hp. engine." The 1946-'47 21st Series Packard Clipper Deluxe Eights had the 282 ci straight eight, on a 120" wb which this Clipper is. To fit the 356 ci engine, the Super Clipper and Custom Super Clippers are seven inches longer ahead of the cowl to front axle plane, longer fenders and hood. While the 21st Series "Junior" Clipper Six and Eight two door Club Sedans (Packard's term for the two door 'fastback' coupes) do turn up occasionally, the same body style in the "Senior" Super Clipper and Custom Super Clipper is extremely scarce, typically sells for far higher prices than ask here. Yes, its badly overdone, less would definitely be more.
bryankazmer
The non-authentic two tone and wire wheels are negative additions. As said, less than 30 Senior 2 drs, those are a different animal. The Custom interior is fantastic. There’s a nice Junior there, why mess it up?
Fossil
First thing to do is strip the wheels and paint them the Clipper grey color. That would help bring it back from the Clown Car category.
58L-Y8
Unhappily, someone got the bright idea to change the top color to doll-up this nice Packard.
alsancle
I see that Ronald McDonald picked out the wheels.
bryankazmer
Packard did offer a two tone with gray lower but the upper color was silver. Quite attractive
jukejunkie1015
The tires and rims are a good match for his popcorn wagon. Picture
