1953 Sears Allstate, one restored, one a project

Recommended Posts

Selling these for a recently deceased friend's family. One is a restored 4-cylinder coupe with no trunk lid (base model). Indoor storage, has not run in a couple of years, but it is a Kaiser-Frazer Club prize winner. 4-cylinder flathead engine (same as Jeeps of this era).

The other is a project, but is a Deluxe 6-cylinder model with trunk lid. It will need everything but I think it is all there.

Allstate was the Sears department store's version of the Henry J; less than 2,000 were built in 1952 and 1953, so survivors are very rare. Located in Midlothian, Texas, which is 25 miles south of Dallas. Buy one or both. I live about 100 miles from these, so I don't get down there very often, but will try to answer questions and get more details in coming weeks.

$1500 for the project car; $11,000 for the restored one, or $12,000 for both. Offers considered. The restored car now runs, sounds good, and has a rebuilt 4-cylinder engine.

The unrestored car has a set of rare aftermarket Finliner tail lights on it. That would make it a 52. The tail lights weren't moved to the fender tips until 53.
