In Buick nomenclature it's a "Super Turbine" ST-300 transmission; similar to Olds "Jetaway". Two speeds, but has a "switch-pitch" torque converter that switches between high and low stall speeds. Pontiac also used this transmission, but without the switch-pitch torque converter. 3 2
Fossil
Nice looking car. I wonder if they were offered with the large block engines?
rocketraider
Mmm. Big. Swoopy. I've seen LeSabre with "LeSabre 400" fender scripts but I always thought that meant it had the T400 transmission? PowerGlide indeed. Imagine how a 1964 Turbo 400 would throw them with its "D L" shift pattern.

The 340 cu.in. engine was the only available engine for the '67 LeSabre. The 430 big block was standard in the Electra 225, Riviera and Wildcat. 1

The 455 cu. in big block debuted in 1970, but not available in the LeSabre. Edited August 11, 2023 by Reynard (see edit history)
EmTee
The Wildcat takes this swoopy body to the next level and backs it up with the big engine. This is a '65, but you get the idea... 60s GM Fan
Same body lines as my 67 but I'd take my Wildcat over a Lesabre anyday 😎

Twisted Shifter
I don't know about the '67's, but in '68 the Wildcat hardtop 2-door and convertible had a 3 in. longer wheelbase (126") than the LeSabre's comparable models @ 123". Possibly other body styles, too, and the '67's. The 3" was added in front of the firewall, probably to accommodate the big block engine. Wildcat front fenders and hoods don't fit LeSabres. '68 Wildcat (w/ standard factory fender skirts) "68 LeSabre
Jim Skelly
yes, the '67 and '68 were basically the same
Fossil
I find it very hard not to like that black Wildcat. Very appealing car. 2

I think it is the best looking of all the Wildcats.
Fossil
Wish I could remember what year my uncles was. Seemed like it was more square. Anyway I can't remember it being as attractive as the one above.
