This has nothing to do with the sale of this car but I have never been able to get past those Flash Gordon ray gun tail lights that Chrysler used on their cars.

Am I the only one that feels that way?

You are not!😛 The 1963 Imperial integrated taillights OTOH are simply gorgeous.

Not crazy about the free-standing headlights either, but Chrysler still managed to sell Imperials.

Another styling cue that grates on me are fender-mounted park and turn signals on late-50s Studebaker Hawks. They disrupt the design on an otherwise elegant car.

Price seems reasonable enough and this Imperial might be a good project car for someone but I'm not seeing an 8 out of a 10 condition car here. Dull faded paint? 4 out of a 10. Crusty engine compartment? 5 out of a 10. A Deluxe model with all the bells & whistles, AC, heater system-everything works? PWs all work? Other accessories an 8 out of a 10? A northern rust belt  Michigan car, it would have to be at least an 8 out of a 10 structurally for serious consideration but a 10 out of a 10 would be even better in that department. Styling of course is always subjective, I would be the only one at the show with a 1962 Imperial but truthfully I would rather drive onto the showfield in something else.

I think the taillights are cool on that car. Such an outer space, atomic vibe. And I love the color. Is that Duco Burgundy Mist?

A musician friend of mine had a four door Imperial like this, a gift from an uncle, and some stupid ran into him and totaled it. He was bereft.

IMO the car was priced correctly from the start, but that is truly up to the seller (how bad do you want to sell it?) Regarding the styling of the car, I am a big fan of the floating headlights and the unique placement of the tail lights, but I would not want to be the guy who washes this car often and tries to clean and polish behind those headlights. I have lived outside of Pontiac, Michigan for 12 years and the winters are very rough on these cars. Salt is used generously to melt the snow and ice and do not get me started on pot holes that become craters in the middle of winter. If you don't undercoat your car, it will rust from the bottom up. I would recommend a close inspection of the under side. I do love the style and color.
