Leif in Calif
The seller might be a little optimistic here, but perhaps they think it's really special because it's the very desirable 4 door model. (or maybe one of the zeros in the price is a typo) https://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/d/san-carlos-1981-oldsmobile/7501165590.html Definitely a fixer upper but a classic. Leaks engine oil, power steering oil, transmission oil. 95% OEM parts. Still drives great. Mostly sat in the garage for most of its life. $9000 email:10bfa8e8f8d438289cd849d13c16874d@sale.craigslist.org
TerryB
I really hope there is an extra 0 in that price.
Twisted Shifter
In these here parts, this is still a "used car" - not antique, not classic.
TAKerry
Tape holding the steering wheel together is worth at least one 0!
John_S_in_Penna
I could see someone asking $9000 if he had one with low mileage and in excellent condition. These cars are 41 years old now, though still not highly desired. I think they are well styled and well proportioned. And, as collectors focus on the glamorous cars, they are 100 times scarcer than a Buick Riviera of this year.

Rivguy
My Dad had two Malibu Classic wagons of this vintage when he passed away. I'm a wagon fan like my Dad but I didn't find them to be worth saving and both were scrapped. If he would have had his '64 or '68 Tempest wagons, I might have made a different decision. Leif in Calif
Price increased... now $23,500! I guess the seller has been reading all the press about used car prices and inflation

I see that the car has 200,000 miles--shown in the block of data at the right of the ad. With that mileage, and the worn exterior, and the stated leaks, the seller would be doing well to get $2500--not $23,500! 1
