Xander Wildeisen
I bought a bunch of left over 41 Cadillac parts a few weeks ago. The guy I got them from said this tank was a vacuum tank for a 41 convertible. Is that true?
keiser31
None of the items i see on a Google search look like that one.
MikeC5
I can't believe Cadillac would have still used a vacuum tank on anything by 1941. Fuel pumps were in widespread use by then. Could it have been a vacuum accumulator for something?
DavidMc
Is it part of a vacuum system to open and close the convertible top?
Xander Wildeisen
My guess would be for the convertible top. Or it is part of a BBQ grill that got placed in the garage next to the Cadillac stuff. Then I end up with it.
Xander Wildeisen
It does look a lot like pictures of old air tanks for suspension, or air shocks. Might have been removed from the Cadillac convertible during restoration. It is making its way closer to the scrap pile.
Matt Harwood
I don't believe it's from a '41 Cadillac. I've never seen a tank like that in any Cadillac (or Buick) convertible. It might be a vacuum storage tank, maybe for an earlier car with vacuum assist power brakes?
8E45E
It could be for a GMC 2-ton or larger truck. Craig
