deac
Okay, so it's a 4 door and that limits it's appeal right from the get-go. It looks to be an honest car that's been kept original. But here's my problem with it; it's boring to look at! It has no curb appeal and though original looking the paint color doesn't suit this car. I can't really say for sure but is that a rust spot in the left front fender behind the wheel? It also has an under-dash air conditioning unit installed and I do see the compressor but doubtful the compressor works!
The 55er
They tried to add a little pizazz by installing 61 Impala fender ornaments above the headlights but that didn't help much. I would say that's a previously repaired rust spot on the bottom of the front fender because that's one area where all the 60 Pontiacs got rusty. If $10,000 was spent on the car then the asking price would be $12,500. And so it goes. It is a rather plain looking car.
suchan
I'd like to know what the $8K in repairs involved, and why the rear end is jacked up. Agree the color is boring. Was two-tone available?
The 55er
Yes, two tones were available, I owned a Coronado red 1960 Catalina 2-door Hardtop back in the day with a white roof. As in 1959, the Bonneville series were fancier cars with better appointments and higher trim levels, I'm sure the Bonnevilles are more desirable today.
mobileparts
Why would anyone spend " $8000 " in Repairs to TRY and sell it for $ 10,500 --- which gets knocked down to $ 10,000 for sure --- if not $ 9000....... Why would he not have just tried to sell it at " $ 2500 " which gets knocked down to $ 2000 , for sure ........ Something sounds " fishy " / " stupid " here..... And like you'll say ^^^^ , it is far from a cream puff or a super desirable car..... Sounds like it is 4th and 33...... punt.....
Rivguy
Four slams, no clams! The more door curse. If the guy really wanted to sell it he should have listed all those repairs and shown the invoices.

kingrudy
IMO if you are going to buy a four door, get the hard top version. Oldsmobile, Buick or Pontiac four door no post looks a lot nicer.
Guest
Hmmm? I don't know what to think here. While I agree with most that a 4 door sedan in Tan/Tan is not overly stimulating, what's a fair price and what's to be done with a nice, clean 62 year old survivor like this one? Other than a couple paint touch-ups, the car presents very well. Interior is outstanding. Even the lucite steering wheel has held up well. This is a fine example of a (slightly) upper middle class family's ( 2 to 4 children) basic transport to the grocery store, beach or summer vacation to sunny Florida. Today it would probably be a great driver for a weekend or two, before the boredom factor hit home for most here but there still has to be a target market for a nice, sexagenarian Pontiac like this. I feel like I should reach out and help this 3,000 pound orphan, I'm just not sure I want it living in my garage. JamesR
The good thing about 4 door sedans and 4 door hardtops from the 50's, 60's and 70's: They are far less likely to have been jacked with, messed up or thrashed by decades of teenagers and 35 year old Billy Bobs. I'd say the vast majority of clean original 50's - 70's cars in existence today are 4 doors. This makes them appealing to me.
