Hubert_25-25
Only certain early Touring and Roadster Buicks came with arm rests. Nothing like a bare arm and a hot door top to test your nerves. I have been doing a lot of sewing lately and I came up with an arm rest that would have been a great accessory in it's day. I made the squared off version first which is fairly easy to do, then decided to take a little more time and make a version with rounded corners. This is held in place by the side curtain socket and a single Durable Dot snap that attaches to the durable dot stud that is on the door. These are easy to install and remove and they will not blow off at speed. This will work for both Touring cars and Roadster models with side curtains. Attached are instructions on how to make these and photos of the process. These feel like a real upgrade. dibarlaw
Wonderful job Hugh! This not only eliminates the scorched arm problem but "Door Bite" also. My friend Dave Hare was riding with me last week and was bitten by the door/body flex on my car going over an overgrown tree root down my alley.

Hubert_25-25
Larry, I really appreciate your earlier comment about "door bites" as I had not encountered that, but you mentioned it earlier before I designed these and I was able to adjust the length to eliminate that problem. The 1923 model 39 photo that I later saw of the Buick factory arm rest was on the small size and not as well placed as these. Hugh

Buicknutty
Nice accessory, and a good idea for my '16 too. Keith
