Rivguy
Why would a person say Contact seller for price? For all they know I might have been dreaming of a pink DeSoto. The price might have motivated me to contact the seller. Yes I saw that it was marked sold.

The 55er
Of the four 1958 DeSoto models, Firesweeps were the base (lowest priced) line and were built on the shorter Dodge chassis with the 122" wheelbase. It's just another old four door sedan and the WOW factor just isn't there.

John_S_in_Penna
The original asking price of $11,000 was at least reasonable. Maybe this sedan is an $8000 car. The new $40,000 asking price is the greediest, or most ignorant, price I've seen in quite a while! The new seller obviously doesn't know the antique-car market, but he'll soon learn! 1
Joe Cocuzza
Aerosmith said it best: "DREAM ON" and Supertramp, too: "DREAMER" And, because I have seen how much a variety of mundane and "not-in-the-best-condition" cars are listed for these days, I will sell ANY of the 4 cars I own for a minimum of $300,000 each. Hey, from what I have seen my price is reasonable..... Yeah right !!!!! Edited February 4 by Joe Cocuzza added to (see edit history) 1

JamesR
'58 was maybe the coolest year for Desoto in the '50's, but the extra two doors and pillars keep that car from being anything close to what the new seller wants it to be, price wise. Remember that awesome monotone green Desoto from Iowa a couple of years ago? It was a very clean, original looking 2 door ht with uncommon base trim and I think that seller wanted $26k or something. And it took him a while to sell the car.
