stakeside
Looking recommended thermostat for my DA-6 truck engine. The water neck has a recess and the head is smooth. The thermostat should fit in the recess of the water neck. I found the 60’s 318 thermostat was too large and was slightly larger then the recess. your comments are greatly appreciated. nearchoclatetown
I used a small block Chevy. About 10 years no problem. I did drill an 1/8 inch hole in it to relieve the burp.
stakeside
Is 160 temperature correct?
nearchoclatetown
I KNEW you would ask that. I don't remember if 160 or 180. Not sure it matters as much as having one.
vintchry
I would run a 160 if available, Rob
Ron Lawson
The thermostat that fits my 2249 Senior is a 160 deg unit
stakeside
Thanks for help you all. Got fresh DA 6 rebuild running. Must have got the oil pan seals correct. No oil leaks.
gundog99
I fitted a Edelbrock 8606 High Performance Thermostat (63mm) - 160° in my 2249, after I drilled a 1/8 hole
stakeside
I believe the 1/8 hole will help to stop the burping of the overflow. There is another method but a little more difficult. Place a pipe fitting in the head and run a copper line to the radiato
