64Nail
So I was installing my freshly rebuilt carb on my 64 Riv when I accidentally overtightened a nut and broke off the threaded part. See before the rebuild pic and after the rebuild with broken threaded part. What is this part and is there a fix or do I hafto replace the whole piece? carbking
That is the choke housing. Appears to have been previously broken, and a brass repair fitting inserted. Originally, the housing was zinc alloy without the fitting. It may be possible for a good machine shop to remove the existing repair fitting, and machine and install a new one; but you will need to remove the choke housing from the carburetor. I cannot read the number on the carb. It might be easier to replace the choke housing with another from the exact same numbered carburetor. Jon. Bill Stoneberg
If it is a stock carb, I probably have it. I seem to have 3 or 4 1964 Riviera carbs I have collected. I will check later today. It would be fairly easy to change. Take the choke housing off and there are 3 screws holding the parts on. Tell me the number on the carb. It should be a 3635. Daves1940Buick56S
Do I see a rubber fuel line over the stove tube? Is that the way it was originally? Cheers, Dave
Frank DuVal
All the stove pipes I've seen on any car were covered with a fiber sleeve, if they had any covering.
