Can someone ID these hubcaps?

DeSoto are similar but they have De on one side of S and oto on the other side - both are smaller letters than S.  My guess also would be Studebaker.  Or they might be aftermarket replacement for DeSoto, without the other letters so as to avoid patent problems.  Here's the 37 DeSoto hubcap:

This. Its the same reason Ford "Fool" hubcaps and Pontiac "Pocoloo" (sp?) hubcaps exist.

The script “National” on the hub cap wrapper is the give away.  National was a manufacturer of aftermarket hubcaps.  This set might fit a DeSoto but they are not originals.  The originals would be in a MoPar bag wrapper.
