Keyed the other lens again.

A mixture of small heavy, wet coats then a draught of warm air from my heat gun set on low hopefully saw the last coat of red.

If that sets then clear can go on top, dry, be flatted back, cut, polished and waxed.

Benefits of AACA Membership.

A quick test with a Ford Model A radio by Zenith, to prove the method. Bluetooth receiver card, with bypass relay built in. With nothing connected it functions as an AM radio. Connect a Bluetooth device and automatically it switches and you can then play music from the radio speaker using the original tube amp.

Nice upgrade that's actually completely reversible if you felt the urge (it just hooks in before the volume dial).

I have really bad clear coat on my roof. So, I carefully stropped a blade very very sharp and had a go at removing the bad lacquer.

Don't put your sound on unless you aren't bothered by nails-down-the-blackboard noises.

Wiped down damp it looks okay now, apart from the different levels of fade, which I'm going to try remove with wet flatting, polish and then just keep the roof waxed.

New carburetor!

Cleaned up okay. Moves nicely too. Still needs new gaskets but it's good for now.

Carburetor installed.

Distinct lack of mechanical sympathy. It runs nicely. Happy with that.

Curious who is doing your heater valve rebuild? Would it be Jim Tucker?

Sure enough, it's going off to him, yes.

You shouldn't recognize it when it returns. Had mine done couple years ago and is still going strong!

Is he doing the wiper motor too? Would be good to know.

No, I sent that up to Ficken Wiper Service in New York state.

Oh, on the topic of accessories

What is the correct under hood trouble lamp for '51?

I can see where there used to be a lamp, and there's a tongue on the hood to push a switch down but the previous keeper(s) removed it.

Also, another question... Under seat heater return pipe. Mine comes up under the transmission cradle and the hard pipe ends there.. from there to the radiator lower spigot, what's the routing?

Is it just a rubber pipe all the way back from there? I'm guessing it follows the frame and then goes up over the suspension assembly to the rad?

Ok so the hard line that runs up and along by the engine- is that supported anywhere along the way?

Just by a double clamp thingy that I don't have a pic of. Keeps the two hard lines together down near the bottom.

Just crawled underneath. Forgot about a support. Hope this could help.
