OK, you know this isn't a numbers-matching Bloomington Gold show car. However, it is a very clean 4-speed Mid-Year Corvette with a top that goes down for a remarkably reasonable price. Restored in the '90s and driven a bit since then, but mostly in storage since about 2006. We pulled it out, cleaned it up, serviced it, and found a very pretty Corvette underneath. Code 912 Silver Blue paint is still in good order, with the only notable issue being a bruise on the driver's front fender where the fiberglass has a small crack. Panel fit is good but not great, but probably no worse than when it was new. Nice chrome trim with no issues other than a little age. Beautiful 491GE Blue and White interior that really cleaned up nicely. Gauges all operational, radio works, but clock does not. Headlights illuminate but do not flip open and we haven't investigated. Convertible top in very good condition, folds easily and latches without a fight. Factory 4-speed car with numbers-matching transmission. Engine is a non-matching 327 cubic inch V8 that was rebuilt during the restoration. SA suffix code suggests 1962 or 1963 327/250, so it's period but not the car's original engine. Decals on the valve covers say is a 365 horsepower engine, but it seems like it has hydraulic lifters so I think that's just decal tuning. It is plenty strong and entertaining to drive, but I don't know the specifications of the internals. Starts easily, idles well (a little grumpy on the choke), and pulls well at any speed. We just installed a new battery and alternator. 4-speed makes it a lot of fun to drive. Quite tidy underneath with a kind of hacky exhaust system but otherwise in good order with upgraded fiberglass leaf spring in back. 1964 means drum brakes all around but they're plenty adequate for normal driving. Genuine knock-offs in excellent condition and they wear recent General radials. No documentation, no papers, but again, that's why it's priced at only $37,900. A lot of cool Corvette at a decent price and you can upgrade it along the way. Have fun! I was just clarifying that the engine in the description came from a passenger car with A/C and a Powerglide transmission. What he said is quoted below. Not only 'numbers matching"; but how many of a certain Corvette were built with an array of options. Or even a combination of options. The trade magazines and blogs, really push these ideas. Some Corvette owners use the lack of certain options to "dig" at some owners; which I think is reprehensible. Your 1964 Corvette is a beautiful car. I really liked the paint and interior combination. I would have loved to have that car in my collection, just too little funds and space at this time.
