Even today, we see ads with claims like "Excellent investment!" or "Rapidly appreciating!" Well, if a car is such a superb investment, why doesn't the seller just keep it?? Same reason you should never buy gold when the guy on television is telling you to invest in gold. He's trying to sell it. Buy gold when the guy isn't running commercials.
