Twin spark DU4 Dual second series are rare......and the cars that use them are even rarer. Leyden......is the one you have available a plain twin spark or a twin spark dual?

Ed,

Am sure the DU reference is just a mental hiccup, Bosch did not make 2 spark magnetos on the DU frame.

I can offer Bosch ZR-4 in 2 spark or 2 spark dual.

For those engines with one set of spark plugs, I have dual magnetos ( start on battery and run on mag).

Also available appropriate switches  012, 212 and dual switch/coils.

Rotation ( clockwise or CCW) of any magneto desired is helpful.

Also offering early Bosch literature original or pdf electronic copies.

Early Bosch magneto items bought sold or traded.

Please contact me using the given email address.

Layden........yup. Covid fog, still can’t shake it. Can’t remember if I was half asleep or half in the bag either!

I was wondering how many four cylinder cars ran dual plugs?

I know the list is:

Mercer

Stutz

Simplex

White

There must be a few others? I’m guessing from the above list, not too many cars are actually being driven today.......most of the “gold standard” speed cars are now static museum relics.

It’s my understanding there were two styles of twin spark duals.......early, and then late and replacement units. I’m told the later style is slightly taller in the magnets. Any help would be great. Ed.

The GM series is a mono block four valve per cylinder T head...........car production was 1917 & 1918 model years, and a few fire trucks used the engine also. It was 72 horsepower. There are two early chassis that date to 1915 production dates.
