Might help to know in which part of northern IL you are looking & how far you are willing to travel.

Hermann's storage in Hampshire IL is a fairly good place.

Do you know any widows or other older single people?

One of our members rents the spare bay of a 2-car garage

from an elderly neighbor for $25 a month.

Another method:  I worked out an arrangement with a local

business that had unused warehouse space.  Now, several of

our club members rent space in the warehouse for a reasonable price,

benefiting the business and the car owners.

Of course, ads in your local newspaper, "shopper" paper,

or local electric Craig's List are good sources.  Consider placing

a want-ad in one of those places.  You may reach

a lot more local people there than on our world-wide AACA Forum!

I had a complete 1933 Essex-Terraplane 8 chassis back when Driving Miss Daisy was playing at the movies. It was going to become my Railton knock off. Mr. Bell, the owner of Miss Daisy's Hudson owned a Railton and offered to let me make a pattern. Something happened and I considered long term storage. That was when I realized that if it ever left my garage it wouldn't come back. I sold it and moved on to the happy life with too many cars I experience today. Long term storage is a crumby option.

If you get up against the wall and run out of time, certain u-store-it places will rent you a 10 x 20 space.  Not ideal (you can barely get into your car) but will at least get your car under cover until you find more permanent storage.

I am in Geneva Il but would like to keep the car within 15 miles.

Well, that rules out Hampshire.  BUT, I know the greater Geneva-St Charles area has quite a few self-storage places that would work, at least temporarily while you locate a more permanent solution.  Sorry I wasn't able to help more.

Thank you all so much for the responses I do really appreciate them. I have come to a very hard and very sad decision as I am going to be selling the 68 Barracuda
