Guest 66jag
Well, I've decided to start looking for a new Classic to show off in addition to the love of my life, my 66 Jag. My kid posted on here a few months back about bringing my Jag to D & D Classic for some restoration services and I'm completely sold on them, but I still have to decide on the ride itself. I've been continuously going back to the 1950 Plymouth Super Deluxe Convertible on their site and just wanted to get some input. What do you think? TexRiv_63
That is a nice looking car but it has been extensively modified. Doesn't bother me but a lot of folks on this site will disagree with applying the words "Classic" and "Restored" to a modified car.
alsancle
I saw that ad a while back and wondered what a "super deluxe" was since Plymouth used "Special deluxe".
avgwarhawk
As TexRiv stated, there has been some modifications to the car. I prefer as original as possible. I'm not sure what you care for when it comes to cars and modifications. It is a very nice car and I can see the attraction.
1937hd45
Is your '66 Jag an E-Type? If so forget the Plymouth and pour the money in the Jag. Day and night differance in those vehicles.
alsancle
Bob, having experience with both, I would say the biggest difference is the Jag looks great in the garage and the Plymouth will not break down on the road.
Restorer32
Maybe so but I'd rather push my Jag than drive a modified '50 Plymouth.
1937hd45
I'd rather look at an enginless E-Type than drive a Plymouth. Bob, having experience with both, I would say the biggest difference is the Jag looks great in the garage and the Plymouth will not break down on the road. alsancle
Hey! My high school car was a 49 2 door special deluxe that had 9k miles. When I was nice to my mom she would let me borrow her xk140. Now that I think of it I agree with what you are saying.
alsancle
Btw, the Plymouth was a MUCH better drive in car than the Jag.
Restorer32
Actually it is possible to, shall we say, have fun in a Jag but you must be young and limber. Sadly I am now neither.
Larry Schramm
One of my college room mates had a Jag and lest we never forget .....The Prince of Darkness
