AHa
I have a friend who has a rear differential and the entire differential housing is aluminum. It appears to be frm the early 1960's in design. would anybody know what this would be out of?

joe_padavano
There were aftermarket aluminum and magnesium center sections for the 57-64 Olds/Pontiac axles. These used to be fairly common. Again, a photo would help stop speculation.

AHa
Sorry, I wasn't bright enough to take any pictures. He lives several miles away. I looked the diff. over pretty good and could find no identifying markings on it. It looked factory, or stock only aluminum, axel tubes and all. It was made in two halves, no center section. I've been at this car business several years now and I've never seen anything like it. I should have taken a picture. At the time I just didn't think. He was asking me what it was worth.
