trimacar
Can't tell scale from the pictures, but it looks like a tar-top battery with the top and cells removed. If it's more or less the size of a car battery, then that's what I'd say.....
Dave Mellor NJ
I think all tire stores got their names put on the products they sold. Some oil companies, too.

Restorer32
Not sure why you would have a tire tread pattern on a battery. What material is this made of?

oldwhizzer
Everything on it seems to point toward Tires. Maybe part of Display. Its made from Hard rubber. What do you have to trade West?
West Peterson
License plates. Lots of Car Collector magazines (a pretty complete run from 1978-1996~); Car posters... a 10-year-old Golden Retriever / Border Collie mix:cool:; money (but not much of it:o). West Peterson
On second thought, I'm going to have to take the dog off the trading table.
Guest longman
Well, if it's not a battery box, could it possibly be a storage container for spare inner tubes?
mattg
could it be for tire chains
Larry Schramm
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is an empty 6 volt battery box. Probably was used as a display to show customers how the batteries were put together.
john2dameron
Wes, looks like you put about everything but the wife on the trading table; was that intentional or accidental. LOL
Steve Braverman
When I was in high school I worked at a Sears auto center. We had Diehard batteries that were empty cases that were used as display items. It was always fun to carry one across the shop, pretending to struggle with the weight of a real battery, and then suddenly throw it at somebody. The reactions were always priceless.
