What would a chrome spear side trim fit with a GM part number 8701028 ?

Its 40 3/4 inches long 9/16 wide with a rib in the center, both ends are flat, may be a door trim piece. From the '60's or '70's I'd gress.

No, It's still in the GM wrapper so I can't be over 30 years old IMO.

If you take a good picture of the side of the package with the part number and other numbers, we will be able to help a lot more.

The group number is the number that GM parts categorized parts into like chapters in a book. They are among others engine, body, transmission, electrical, etc...

I looked in the Buick Master Parts book ending in 1972 - it appears to be a rear door molding but no exact match in the Buick book, close numbers in the 69 & 70 range. Someone with a Caddy book check, it may be 69/70 Cadillac rear door body side molding.

The part is definately after 1968 is when GM Parts was created.

CLOSE to 71 Chevy numbers too, it may be Olds

FOR SURE a REAR door molding (the Group number makes it so), so that makes it a 4 door or station wagon application

Bob, this is one of many surprises in the life! I forgot to add that LH & RH are identical.
