Yes...MOPARs had two types, I believe...metal and rubber.

Rubber after market were available in the early 50s when I started working in FILLING stations. In fact, I just saw a set available at the Street Rod Nationals in Springfield, MO Saturday. New for $100.00.

I heard that the rubber items were outlawed because of them popping out of the bead of the rim and tires going flat.

Installed many a porto-wall back in the day growing up in Dad's tire shop. Don't remember any issues with flats caused by them. If installed properly they surely couldn't pop out.

I have a set of metal ones hanging on the wall and I used to put rubber and metal ones on when I was a teenager.
