Oldsfan
Just a quick note to the forum members who are Veterans - I'm sure there are a bunch of you. Thank you! It is because of your service that we have the freedom to enjoy our cars and these forums and I, for one, am grateful to you. They didn't have a "salute" icon, so I gave you all a "thumbs up".Paul

Shop Rat
My husband is also a Viet Nam era veteran. He was a Captain in the Air Force. He was stationed in Mass. but was very involved in what was going on in Nam.My cousin was a Captain in the Coast Guard. He graduated first in his class at the Coast Guard Academy. My nephew is in the W. Va. Air National Guard and a Putnam County Sheriff's Deputy. A close friend of ours was one of the "Screaming Eagles" during the conflict in Korea. We owe a great debt to the members of all of our armed services. rocketraider
The City has put up a Veterans' Memorial in one of the local public parks. Yesterday was its dedication. They sold bricks with your veteran's name on it to help pay for it, and I am proud to say my dad and all my uncles have bricks in the Danville-Pittsylvania County Veterans' Memorial.http://www.registerbee.com/servlet/Satel...d=1173353456193If you've never been here http://www.dday.org/, make an effort. Two of my uncles and several of their friends were there on D-Day and survived.http://www.virginia.org/site/features.asp?FeatureID=255Also- US 29 in Virginia is designated the 29th Infantry Division Memorial Highway.
