  1. Even taking into consideration of that silver thing, I had no problems tilting the replacement OEM AC Delco accumulator and clearing the strut brace. It did not bend or stress, and I didn't have a problem starting the thread with risk of cross threading. One of the only reasons why I procrastinated. It's not necessary.
  2. Ronnie, Why does the instruction say to remove the strut brace? I was able to replace the accumulator without removing it. I just tilted it from front to back to firewall over the spindle thing and it went on just fine. Plenty of clearance. Accumulator Replacement Instructions - Reatta Owners Journal
  3. This made me snort out loud. If it works, it works. Just like anything tried in a small test area and realizing it works better than intended use nothing wrong with that. Otherwise folks wouldnt be using WD-40 for unintended purposes.
  4. My radiator is original and I run at a cool 199 degrees. If the plastic sides aren't bulging or brittle, I don't see why jumping to replace this first is going to solve anything. He needs to verify the fan switch is working first. Go from simple triage then work the way towards physical replacement items.
  5. Is this the Buick phone system that Riviera and Reatta had in the interface?
  6. Radiator seems too drastic. What about the coolant water jacket sensor? I'm sure it's somewhere near the thermostat underneath the intake somewhere. It's probably a mushroom connection and triggers the fan. It might be not sending an accurate temp to ground the fan on. If you ground out that sensor, that will help determine if the fan is getting proper sensor input.
  7. Check the last pic on this article. The Ogre's Fiero Cave: Chime This!
  8. I just ordered one from you. Thanks for the link.
  9. That is so cool that your employer does this type of event. It's low cost and shares alot in common with others. I wish my employer did this type of thing because folks occasionally drive interesting garage cars that I would like to see up close.
  10. ohh wow okay that's very same box as the blue dingy thingy in the Fiero as it's always called. Fiero one is same box but blue.
  11. Look at the service records in this listing and convince me otherwise that it didnt have any bearing on why a car with 103k miles sold for $11.5k Toyota : MR2 Hard Top Coupe in Toyota | eBay Motors Yes, by all means keep the records and use them as a selling tool.
  12. Remember that R134a capacity is 85-90% of listed R12 capacity. Don't overcharge!
  13. I don't see why replacing the headlamp motor module should be something suspected immediately that's faulty. It's doing this out of ordinary scenario when it's receiving ignition power, not headlight switch action. Sounds like the previous owner rigged it to do this as some sort of way to comply with local laws or laziness. Any chance you can contact the prior owner to see what was possibly done? Without turning the ignition key on and you press the headlight button and turn it off. What do the headlight motors do in that scenario?
  14. Is there a quick way from CRT to determine which module is installed? How would one install the new ANCX type?
  15. Open the store dammit! LOL Can't you just put a disclaimer on your Amazon store page that all part numbers have been checked to the best of your abilities but to check the actual part # from the old part to confirm? I mean each part # I see on GM cars are always stamped with those familiar part numbers.
  16. Wow Ronnie you are taking this out on yourself way too hard. There's no way for you to know about a running change with a rarely replaced rack. It's a learning experience that caught everyone by surprise. The only way I'd see how you would be responsible is if you kept recommending the same wrong part # over and over. Not the case here. Reopen it!!! LOL
  17. Thanks but wish that pic was a bit larger. On a side note, what an interesting T-frame roof. Almost looks like they were prepping the frame to take T-Tops.
  18. Anyone have a pic of Reatta headliner area between the sun visors? Especially without the headliner attached. I was curious to know if that space has attachment points anywhere underneath the headliner. I was considering experimenting with adding an overhead console like this one from another GM car. Wonder if I could wire in that trip computer display too. Thoughts? 1995 2001 GMC Jimmy Overhead Light Control Console w Homelink | eBay
  19. I noticed that 88 plenums have "3800" engraved in the top. Later years have it on the plastic cover. Thought that was interesting. On the "FUEL INJECTION" part. What are the recommendations to paint this? Any specific color or procedure tips appreciated.
  20. so if the 91 motor does not have the bracket, is there an empty bolt hole there?
  21. So far so good I think. I ran the car for over 20 minutes and didnt see any leaks develop. How soon would I see seepage? Ronnie, Do you think it would be a good idea to at least mention this additional pinch bar in the journal? It caught me off guard. Perhaps only the 889's have it?
  22. Thanks! That's exactly what it's for. It's a bridge pinch for the inaccessible bolt hole by the oil filter
  23. I already have that one! I just need to know about this odd bracket thing.
  24. Also, what do you think of the internals? Seemed shiny with areas of "rust" on the crankshaft. I tried wiping them off. From what I could see on the cylinder walls, they were smooth and everything seemed not too gunked up. The chain felt tight.
  25. So I've wiped down the engine block and the pan with brake cleaner. I'm ready to install. However, I have this metal "L" shape metal bracket but I cannot remember exactly area where it came from. Do all oil pans have this additional bracket? Or did someone add this trying to add extra "pinch" to try and resolve a leaky area? The bolt is slightly longer than the rest.
