  1. Mike, i would suggest you you take a look at your shackle straps when your trailer is sitting empty & level as I outlined above. Many trailers come new from the factory not set up correctly. Jim
  2. I purchased my parts at Redneck Trailer Supply but you can get the best deal at e-trailer - just call & make sure the part(s) are in before you place & pay for an order .... For a tandem axle 3000 to 6000 pound axle trailer: Equalizer kit @ https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Suspension/Lippert-Components/LC1594011.html?fe ed=npn&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI2JeimefK1QIVkFp-Ch0ndAGTEAQYASABEgKF8PD_BwE Suspension upgrade kit @ https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Suspension/Lippert-Components/LC281285.html Jim
  3. This is what happens when your shackle straps are oriented in a near vertical position .... This shackle strap is just about to break from being hammered .... The constant hammering up & down causes the shackle bolts to oval out the softer surrounding metal - that leads to suspension component failure ....
  4. Each morning it seems I find a trailer parked next to mine that I can learn from (if only I bother to look) ... This morning there was a triple axle enclosed trailer - note the angle of the equalizer shackle straps:
  5. If you build a trailer with tandem or triple axles and choose a leaf spring suspension - get a spread axle design instead of a conventional system using equalizers & shackle straps. If you have a conventional system - consider upgrading to a Lippert Equa-Flex System: @ https://www.lci1.com/equa-flex I just put this system on my triple axle trailer along with new leaf springs & the shackle strap & bolt upgrade kit. Jim
  6. I watched the video. No car can be loaded & secured for transport in 5 minutes. I have no clue what the statistics are - but customers routinely rent trailers from U-Haul & other rental companies and then lie about the tow vehicle they are using and/or the vehicle they are putting on the trailer. Insurance coverage does not prevent an accident - injury - death .... It just addresses the consequences ..... Anticipating a U-Haul trailer being pulled down the road at 75 + miles per hour with no electric trailer brakes and just a two point secure attahment on the front wheels by someone with little or no experience hauling a car does not make me feel particularly safe .... Any open car hauler trailer should be equipped with electric trailer brakes in good working order and the vehicle on it should have a four point tie down. Jim
  7. Good news for those looking for an American made trailer tire .... @ https://corporate.goodyear.com/en-US/media/news/goodyear_launches_american_manufactured_trailer_tire.html I just installed (3) of these on the curb side of my enclosed trailer - interested to see how long they will last .... Jim
  8. This this is the Summer Residence for Kramer & George ..... Jim
  9. Great Detective Work ! So - based on the side profile view - what model of the 1936 P2 series do you think the car rolled off the Detroit production line as ? Jim
  10. Are you thinking it was modified maybe mid 1940's to mid 1950's ? JIm
  11. Exactly ... This applies to all Sellers who are asked by a prospective Buyer how much vehicle transport will cost ..... You are selling a car - not transport .... JIm
  12. Mike, I do not think this came off the line as a truck - it was titled as one probably after the conversion was done. Jim
  13. Thank You Very Much ! I just visited your website .... I am waiting on interior - engine - rear bed images ..... Based on the (3) images I have in the first post - do you think the base car is a Sedan or a Coupe ? Jim
  14. I have a VIN - # 2962668 Titled as a 1936 Plymouth 1/2 ton pick up truck I have had no luck deciphering the VIN ... Jim
  15. Bob, The guy in Mississippi passed on it ... He was trying to wait the guy out - he kept trying to get the price lower .... A few few days after I shot videos of it running - a guy flew in on an overnight flight from Hollywood, CA and bought it within minutes ...... Jim
  16. I am waiting on the VIN to verify ..... But based on the hood latches I think the base car is a 1936 or 1937 Plymouth. It could have been a closed top Coupe or Sedan but probably not a Convertible. The front clip looks to be from a 1936 Chrysler Airstream. If there is a Jaguar engine under the hood - that might explain the length added between the front clip & where the hood ends. I have never see anything quite like this. My buddy thinks it was modified in the 1940's or 1950's - it is probably all lead. I think it is Wicked Cool ..... Jim
  17. Hi Bob, I took these images when I went out to shoot a few videos for a guy in Mississippi that was on the fence about buying a 1940 Ford Business Coupe ..... I could not not stop thinking about it ...... I am going in on it with a buddy - we plan to bring it back to running condition. Jim
