  4. my younger brother owned an older house with this kind of setup in his detached garage. There was (is) a sandpoint well in it that he used for irrigating his lawn and garden. There was a lip around the edge so it could be boarded up and use the garage, but still have access to the pump.
  5. Don't forget that there will be 17 readers that ask " did you check to make sure the old light still worked?"
  6. I googled canadian vin number decoding. the searches I found state there needs to be 17 characters. yours only show 13. try this page. Good luck. bob https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=vin+number+decoding#hl=en&q=canadian+vin+number+decoding
  7. thanks for the replies. got to thinking about the history of my panel. At one point my dad had installed an early 40's l head. I think that that's where the throwout bearing housing came from. I now have the 38 D8 engine with the 3 speed tranny to install. I'll have to check to see what kind of fork it has. The bell housing does have the opening for the grease tube to connect to that greases the throwout bearing I am looking at replacing. Thanks again.
  8. my Dodge came with this type of throwout bearing, but the return spring holder is broken off. I found this one, but was told it is for 40"s era dodge. Does anyone know if it will fit? I have a 38 D8 engine with the 3 speed tranny for a drive train.
  9. try DCM they have clips for sale. https://dcmclassics.com/
  10. If it's the same as for a 36 humpback panel I have a couple of extras I can get to you. I'll have to check to see which one I have needs a new mounting bolt. PM me if interested. good luck, bob
  11. I did see that part at dodge central, but couldn't see the connector good enough to tell if it was correct. I will get a couple of them there. thanks for the info (again).
  12. no. It's hollow all the way thru.
  13. thanks. is he a member or manufacturer? edit. I found the web page. thanks again.
  14. Hi. trying to figure out what kind of wiring harness connector I need for this Naco branded tail light. It has this "insert and twist" on the inside for the bulb and on the back for the harness. I have no idea, but can guess, what it actually takes. If you know do you know where I can find one. thanks. bob
  15. way back in the late sixty's I was "parked" with my date on an old dirt road off of the main paved road. When it was time to go home ( I had a curfew) the car would not start. Had to walk with my date about 2 miles to get home. Dad and I took my date home and then went to check out the car - a 1959 ford with a 6 cylinder- and could not find the problem. The next day towed it home. After several hours we found that the wire going to the resistor on the firewall had broken, but the wire wrapping was intact. Got a lot of grief and good natured kidding from my mom and dad for quite awhile after that.
  16. my son found these two barn finds in his inlaws property. The closed car is a dodge but he doesnt know what year. the other one we think is an Austin Healy but not sure. Don't know year on either one. any help would be appreciated. thanks. Kaizer (sp) I know you know. /// UPDATE. I think the dodge is a 1950 dodge wayfafer according to some pics on the web..
  17. People from my high school group are trying to determine the appx. time this phots was taken. Can anyone ID the cars in the photo? I think the far left looks like a mid to late 30's dodge. Thanks.
  18. I don't know if this has been posted before, but his is a link that a friend of mine sent me. It has all kinds of short (to long) clips about old car ads, how they were built, etc. There's hours of fun viewing. I enjoyed the one about the 38 ford being built. enjoy. http://www.tvraaca.org/oldmovies.htm#movie
  19. here is info for the whole front clip for one. If you get it and don't need it I might be interested in the gauge cluster. [http://yakima.craigslist.org/pts/4435995821.htmlQUOTE=magickfrost;1301336]Looking for a grill insert for a 1936 dodge 1.5ton truck.
  20. found these pics while looking thru a history of jackson, mi on facebook. Any ideas of what they are, especially the HUGH car? thanks.
  21. When I had my front shock on my 36 humpback panel rebuilt I used 5 points. they have shock links. Five Points Classic Auto Shocks
  22. the 2 rods with all the grommets look like the crosslink rods that go from the knee action shocks to the mounting plate located on the springs. Its not a very good photo, but you can see them in it.
