  1. It's the original radiator. Mopar # 573874. I can't find any maker name on it. Bob
  2. Thank you Rusty_Otoole. Very helpful info. The coolant I was talking about was something like engine ice (expensive).
  3. I'm considering getting a new aluminum radiator for my panel. My questions are: What would be a good coolant that is not real expensive? The coolant cap on the old radiator was a zero pressure cap. Would I need to get a pressure cap or will a zero pressure cap work? Thanks in advance.
  4. I'm in Willamette Valley Oregon. (near Salem). My panel is classified as an LC also. I did find a possible fit at Wizard cooling in New York. https://wizardcooling.com/i-30503946-1936-37-dodge-truck-no-tranny-cooler.html
  5. I'm looking for an OEM radiator or an aftermarket radiator that will fit my panel. I still have a flat head engine in it. A local radiator shop wants about $2100 to fix the one I have. (it's pretty shot). I'm thinking an after market one would be a lot less. Any help or leads would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I have also posted this in the Dodge trucks section. Bob

  7. looks to me like it might be off a mid 30's dodge or plymouth radiator cap. It looks like the 4 studs on the bottom have been cut off with the part that clamps to the top of the radiator.
  8. Maybe a traffic signal sign for China town? If it were automotive, wouldn't it need at least 2 flashers?
  9. Well people.... Thanks for all your input and ideas. I guess I will have to stick with the foot push pedal. IF I can find one. Thanks again. Bob
  10. I have a 36 dodge humpback panel with a 6 volt positive ground L head. I've been thinking about installing a push to start button instead of the floor foot pedal. I just don't know how to wire it. I want it to start after i turn the key to the on position as if I was using the push pedal. I do have a voltage regulator installed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob
  11. Thank you so very much. There was no wiring harness when I acquired my panel. I have a new wiring harness built by a reputable wiring harness company.(with all color coded wires) I got it thru Vic's dodge garage in Corvallis, Oregon. My big problem is what wires go where on parts that have more than one terminal or have numerous wires going to them. I should now be able to not burn much down. Thanks again. Bob
  12. That's exactly what I did. Top center is power; left is headlights; bottom is driving lights and bottom right is an aux (?). I'll try that. Thanks for the feedback. Bob
  13. Trying to install my new wiring harness into my panel. I need help to figure out which wires go to where on my switch. Also need to know if I can hook the wire for the gauge cluster light onto this switch instead of using a separate switch. Any info would be appreciated. Bob
  14. Thanks to all for your input. I've done a bunch of input and checking different ways. So far I've found that the VR I need is a VR2. It is compatible with my generator, most probably out of a 49-54 Dodge Coronet, which takes a VRP-4001A VR. A VR2 is compatible replacement for the VRP. Again, thanks to all. Bob
  15. That is the voltage regulator I have. I'm just trying to figure out how to mount the wiring harness where. (what goes inside the firewall and how). Bob
  16. I had the wiring harness specifically built for this particular generator (I have two of them) and corresponding voltage regulator that I have. I knew it was a later generator. Bob
  17. Thanks to everyone for the replys. I'll have to check using each suggestion to find out. Bob
  18. Does the one you bought have any marks on the body telling which is which? Thanks, Bob
  19. I have an Autolite 2 post, with ground screw, generator (GGW6001J) on my panel. There are no markings on/near the posts to tell which one is which. I cleaned the generator prior to this post. I am installing a new wiring harness that was made for this generator. There was no harness when I got the panel. How can I tell which post is which? Thanks, Bob
  20. to me it looks like the left tirerod end broke or came apart.
  21. I have a 36 Dodge humpback panel. I thing they should also work on other vehicles around the same age. Bob
  22. I found a small threaded bolt that works for securing the chrome trim to the grill surround. the company is Restoration Specialties in PA. The part number is B883. If you call them the will send you a sample to try. The cost is .72 each. Hope this helps someone. Bob
