  1. Just about any exhaust manifolds from 400, 430, or 455 engines will fit your '70 Riviera, unless you want exact numbers matching, which may take a little longer to find.
  2. Tilt wheel was standard on all 2nd generation Riviera - cornering lamps were an option, and require a different switch.

That's what I figured too Winston, but usually it states 'for sale,' and there is usually an asking price ?

    . . . a labour of love - looking good !
  5. Thanks for the detailed PVD process description and the costs Alexander - considering the final results, it was time and expense well spent ! Those faux wood inlays are simply 'icing on the cake', and add a personal, mild custom look to the interior of your Riviera. There was a vendor in Canada doing PVD coating located in Vancouver, BC, but he closed shop about 5 years ago. The only source I am aware of now is located in USA, and you pay in US dollars, which is +25% and shipping from Canada, so it can be expensive. . . . appreciate the comment on profile pic - my pride 'n joy !
  6. The instrument cluster, and dash piece look better than brand new Alexander ! What is PVD coating, where did you get it done, and is it expensive to have plastic parts refinished ?
  7. A '73 Shop Manual is the 'Bible' for your car, and probably the best investment you could make. There are answers to a lot of restoration questions you haven't even asked yet !
  8. . . . this one is as good as it gets !!
  9. . . . fond memories of youth that will always be remembered Ed !
  10. I'm still waiting for a 1:18 2nd generation Riv in any color, with or without vinyl ! Closest they came was a nice 1:18 die-cast by ERTL, or Maisto, of the Oldsmobile Toronado, the boat tail Riviera, and Revell did a limited edition of a '66 or '67 Riviera in 1:24 scale. The first generation '65s have been presented in various scales, by different die-cast manufacturers.
  11. It's a great hobby Ed, and a lot cheaper modifying the die-casts than messing with the full scale versions. Not to mention all the therapeutic benefits - but I warn you, die-cast cars can become contagious, and are a hazard to your wallet !
  12. 1:18 scale is a fairly large size, and allows for a substantial amount of detail in a quality die-cast Darren. The production run of 750 pieces is probably considered a low number.
  13. For all the 1:18 scale Buick Riviera die-cast car collectors - A new 2016 summer release is planned for a '64 Buick Riviera in Bronze Mist, with a White interior. For pre-orders, pictures, and additional information go to this website. http://www.diecastmusclecars.com/
  14. WWWs, Narrow WWs, Triple stripe WWs, RWL, Redlines, or colored, plain old BWs, or Porta-Walls ? Different strokes for different folks, and just remember - Beauty is in the "eye" of the beholder !
  15. . . . just join the ROA Michael, your membership includes a subscription to the Riview !
  16. 2nd Generation power antennas are relatively easy to overhaul. The hardest part of the entire operation is removal of the domed cover on the housing. Dirt and corrosion buildup in the base of the housing will restrict the movement of the nylon cable, and cause it to jam, as will bent or damaged sections of the antenna mast. A broken cable will need replacing. Power antenna overhaul is covered in the shop manual, and there are several articles that were published in back issues of the Riview.
  17. When I attempt to access my images it says 'not found', the same holds true for a link I had posted in a thread ? It was working after the changeover, but now they are gone.
  18. Thanks for the update Mr.Earl - guess I missed your notification post. It was a total surprise to me, and like Ed, I thought a computer update had caused the changes to the usual AACA forum format. It's never easy to change - so, just gonna hang in till all the dust settles !
  19. I'm in here on a twice + daily basis Ed, and there was no mention of any pending changes, As I understand it, the changes are still a 'work in process', so we best wait till they are finalized, or Mr. Earl chimes in ! We're not the only ones that were confronted, or concerned about this surprise !
  20. Thought I was having computer problems too Ed, as I installed some updates just today - fingered it might be an update problem, so I restored the computer to an earlier date, but that didn't change the situation, so I'll go through the update scenario again. We'll wait 'n see what Mr. Earl has to say about the surprise most of us are finding !!
  21. . . . if it ain't broke, why bother trying to fix it ? Not liking this revised setup at all !! What, if anything, was wrong with the previous format ?
  22. Did the usual display format here change, or did I miss something ? When I arrived at the ROA section today the layout is totally different that what I usually see ? . . . maybe gonna hafta learn posting technic all over again ? whot happened to all my pics ? this just sucks big time !
  23. Like I stated, they certainly do allow access to oil spray, or treat the unprotected, bare interior untreated areas of the metal rocker panel. In addition, those lower rear quarter panels can benefit from the same treatment too.
  24. Here's a link to Tom's 'evilBay' compass, which sold for a very healthy offer ! http://www.ebay.ca/itm/181981728224?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.ca%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D181981728224%26_rdc%3D1
