  6. There were three series of 1928 bodies for the Model GE as I assume your car is. The first series were almost identical to the 1927 cars with the half crowned fenders. The second series had fully crowned fenders and the third series had a polo cap type visor over the windshield. That was the first year of the mechanical fuel pump. There were many other changes that year and between series. There were many posts on this forum regarding wood patterns . Did you make any drawings? Can you produce these wood parts for other restorers?
  7. John McCall was going to make these. He borrowed a set from another Stude owner ,so he could make the molds. He never returned these ,so the owner drives around without these. John if you read this ,please let us know what is going on with you!! Robert Kapteyn 815 722 7262 studebaker@mac.com
  8. I still have most of the parts from Stude8. Contact me at studebaker@mac.com I have a grille shell and several cowl lamp bracket that are unidentified. Robert Kapteyn
  9. Jim I have newly made Aluminum cylinder heads available. Expensive!! These heads cracked and corroded very badly. Intake manifold is in the head. I may have a carburator for this head (side mounted). Contact me at studebaker@mac.com Robert Kapteyn , Joliet IL.
  10. By the way.I saw in another post that you ordered an aluminum reproduction oil pump body from "ols car dog "How was the quality and fit? Robert Kapteyn
  11. The oil filter is parallel to the oil pump. If there is no restrictor in the input line , too much oil will go thru the filter and none is left for the bearings. Only a small percentage of the oil should go to the filter The oil keeps going around and chances are that all the dirt is filtered out eventually. If you plug the inlet fitting for a test, you can see if that is your problem. Robert Kapteyn
  12. Look at this previous post. http://forums.aaca.org/f126/1930-president-oil-pump-276318.html When you installed the oil filter, did you install a restrictor in the supply line? If you do not install a restrictor ,too much oil goes through the filter and bypasses the engine and reduces the oil pressure. Restrictor fittings are available. Robert Kapteyn
  13. Don My email address is studebaker@mac.com Always put "STUDEBAKER" in the header otherwise it goes to junk mail. Robert Kapteyn
  14. Sorry I have not been here for awhile. Will try to find that tube today. Do you need the fitting in the manifold also Robert Kapteyn
  15. I wonder what was stolen. I the short time he was there he could not have taken the pivots. Did he just remove the plastic? Robert Kapteyn
  16. To Jeff's defense,he has bought a brake drum from me and contacted me regarding the chrome but I have been so busy since Glendale that I have not have had the time to gather these.I just had a heart operation and can not do much yet. Bob Kapteyn
  17. If you need a new one , I may have some. I am old and slow so it may take awhile to find. Robert Kapteyn
  18. Under the carburator on the intake manifold is a 1/8" drain tube that has a check valve on the bottom. It is not connected on the other side. It drain accumulated gas so the engine won't flood. Robert Kapteyn
  19. It would help if you tell us what car and model year you have. Bob
  20. Rod I am back to my shop. It looks like BO fixed you up. I will not look for this part 187442 unless it does not work out. Bob
  21. Tell ud why you want these! If they are to restore a 1936 Dictator or for a street rod? Bob
  22. I should be back this weekend.Do not get your hopes up too high. I have a pile of "U" joints to search thru. Bob
  23. Be careful buying a manual. There is one vendor that lists a reprint for the 1927-30 Erskine. This manual does not include the 1930 models. The 1930 Erskine and Studebakers were entirely different from the Continental powered 1927-29 Models. 1930 Model 53 both Erskine and Studebaker badged had a Studebaker engine! Bob Kapteyn
  24. I am in California now visiting my daughter. We drove to Glendale from Joliet and continued after the meet to Pasadena. When I get back I will try to find that splined universal joint. Bob
