  1. The 1932/33 Rockne no "y" on the end) Has a very good website The Antique Studebaker Club. Larry Tholen may know of a car for sale. Robert Kapteyn.
  2. Steve The correct part number of the graphite throwout bearing is 133337 You missed a 3 in there. I wished erskinesedan could post these pictures. I believe I may have one. These were also used on the early Model 54. Also the later model 54 had a roller bearing 633334 and you may adapt one of these for longer life. I have the roller bearing but not the collar. The parts book is rather confusing on what the later models used for a release shaft. Has anyone converted from the graphite to roller bearing? You probably know that the early Model 53 was badged as an Erskine and later in the year the badged them as Studebaker. Dealers were send Studebaker badges to convert any Erskines that were in stock. It as a completely different car than the earlier Erskines. The model 53 used the Studebaker 6 engine and the earlier Erskines used Continental engines . These cars came out around the 1929 stock market crash! Let me know if you want me to look for that graphite bearing. Email me directly at studebaker@mac.com and put Studebaker in the subject line. Otherwise it goes straight to the trash.
  3. Sam I have many parts for prewar cars. You must have patience,I am old and slow! If you can give me part numbers , that would help. I am still recovering from a 14 ft,fall of the roof and can not lift anything. I have a lot of help from a retired friend who loves Studebakers. When you email me make sure you put Studebaker in the subject line. Otherwise it will go in the trash. Robert Kapteyn studebaker@mac.com

  5. Digging around my collection of steering gear boxes. I found on that had the number 205999 cast on the cover. I think it maybe 1933 Studebaker. Anyone here that recognizes that number. My oldest parts price list is 1935 and it is not in there. It may not be Studebaker. Thanks for your attention Robert Kapteyn studebaker@mac.com
  6. New aluminum heads are being produced for the light six. The alloy is a lot better and it would pay to go with a new head rather than a warped used one. Check the ads in the "Antique Studebaker Review" The Antique Studebaker Club
  7. THERE WERE TWO KINDS OF CLIPS USED. FENDER TO WHEELHOUSE 1331874 12 PER CAR AND FENDER TO LOCK PANEL 1743X24 8 PER CAR. THE 1331874 ARE $4.00 EACH THE 1743X24 ARE N.L.A. THE STOCK BOLTS ARE 5/16" -10 X1 1/8" ACME AND ARE NOT A STOCK ITEM. YOU CAN USED 5/16"-16X1 1/4" BOLTS AND USE STANDARD CLIPS FROM RESTORATION SUPPLY. 8. I think you were told wrong. As far as I know it takes one in the front and one in the rear. I maybe that someone sold you conveyor belting and that maybe thinner and you would need several. I have an original that I keep as a sample but I can measure how thick it is. Does yours have 5 or 6 holes? Someone posted here that they have original ones. I believe Steve Munts makes replacements.509 924 4572 in Spokane WA.

  10. John McCall seems to have problems making stuff and even returning phone calls. He borrowed a set of 1940 vent window rubbers from one of our members and never send him the reproductions or his old ones which were in good condition. John if you read this , please explain what is going on. If anyone else had bad experiences ,please post them here. Robert Kapteyn
  11. Does the car have an aluminum head? If so I would recommend that you change it to a cast iron head. Both heads are hard to find. I do not have any. Can someone else help this man? Robert Kapteyn. A company in Texas is reproducing the aluminum head for the 1923 "Light Six" and if there are enough takers they may consider to reproduce these

  23. Mike I am looking for a timing chain housing with the engine support for a light 6 for a friend that has no computer. Can you help.
  24. Fram supplied fittings with a restrictor in them. This is to keep oil pressure up at idle but also to prevent pressure to build up in the filter. The restrictor hole in the fitting is smaller than a normal fitting. More oil will flow out of the filter than can come in so preventing pressure built up in the filter housing and leaking gaskets.
  25. Lionel Stone had a bad accident on the way to Cedar Rapids. He is still laid up.
